Bei Versuchen, Derivate des pharmazeutischen Lösungsmittlers (Ia) darzustellen, wurden Umsetzungen mit SOCI, durchgeführt, die überraschenderweise unter Dehydrierung verliefen und aus den Tetronsäuren (I) die Oxobutyrolactone (II) (Ausbeute 30‐42%) lieferten.
Die Ketosteroide (I) und (IV) werden mit Rhodanin (II) in äthanolischer Lösung in Gegenwart von Ammoniak und Ammoniumchlorid zu den gefärbten Steroidderivaten (III) und (V) umgesetzt.
