Objective: to describe the bodily awareness of people with stomies. Method: a descriptive study with a qualitative approach, carried out in the Ostomized Association of the State of Ceará, through semi-structured interviews with ten people with intestinal stomies, according to Merleau-Ponty's phenomenological thinking. Results: two categories of analysis emerged: The body that I have, in which the sensations of defi ciency, imperfection and bad odor add to the feeling of strangeness towards one's own body, affecting the way of being in the world of each deponent; and The body that others perceive, in which the stoma is seen as an embarrassing and complex experience, since it hampers daily activities and conviviality with other people. Final considerations: The corporeal consciousness of Being-Stomp-in-the-world requires the movement to reconstruct the senses of the body from the body I have and from that which others perceive. Descriptors: Consciousness; Body Image; Stomach; Surgical Stomas; Nursing.
The relationship between school, youth, sexually transmitted diseases (STD), and HIV / AIDS in Brazil has provoked much debate in government agencies responsible for promoting prevention strategies for this group. Experiencing a time of discovery and experimentation, youth becomes a very vulnerable segment to STDs and HIV infection. In this context, the paper aims to analyze the content of what is being produced and disseminated by government agencies, in the form of documents (printed or / and virtual), aimed at the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and the HIV / AIDS for the young population of the Brazilian Public Schools. The depth hermeneutics used by John Thompson (1995) allowed us to analyze the content of the selected documents, organized in a series of manuals from the School Health and Prevention Program (SPE). In the latest research on STDs and HIV / AIDS conducted by the Ministry of Health, it is estimated that 630,000 Brazilians have the HIV virus or have already developed AIDS, and 255,000 do not even know they have the virus. In the state of Ceará, currently 11,397 Cearenses receive treatment against AIDS and the mortality rate is worrying. This fact is due to the late diagnosis, the abandonment of treatment, whether the patient is improving and believing that they no longer need the medication, either because of side effects or ashamed to take the drugs in front of other people. Such behavior denounces a lack of awareness and acceptance of the disease by the patients themselves. With regard to youth, there is a downward trend in condom use: in 2004, 51.6% of the population used it. In the 2000s, the number dropped to 46.5%. In the age group of 13 to 19 years, among boys, there were even more cases of AIDS from homosexual transmission, 33.5% than heterosexual, which is 28.3%. Given this context, it was of fundamental importance to research the content of the Health and Prevention at School (SPE) Program documents as it enables us to understand the advances, challenges and possibilities of health agencies in an attempt to inform to promote awareness of prevention in this generational segment.
