Objective: to describe the sociodemographic and clinical profile, life habits and workload of a family caregiver of elderly people admitted to a university hospital. Method: this is a cross-sectional, quantitative study carried out with 161 caregivers/relatives of the elderly during hospitalization at a university hospital. The Informal Caregiver Burden Assessment Questionnaire was applied to the participants, and the data were analyzed using the STATA 12.0 ® program. Resultados: we characterized the predominance of females, with a mean age of 63 years, sedentary, overweight, with systemic arterial hypertension as the main comorbidity, and severe (41.6%) and extremely severe (29.9%) overload was detected in the research participants. It was observed that the instrument used had good internal consistency, where the domains Emotional Burden, Implications for Personal Life, Financial Burden and Family Support had higher scores. Conclusion: the burden of informal caregivers of the elderly was detected as serious and extremely serious, directly impacting mental health, social and financial life.
Objetivo: relatar a experiência de ações de educação em saúde com idosos sobre Hipertensão Arterial e Diabetes Mellitus. Método: trata-se de um relato de experiência sobre uma prática de educação em saúde realizada no período de maio/17 a fevereiro/20 em um Centro de Referência em Geriatria e Gerontologia do município de São Luís-MA. Resultados: através de um modelo de ações mais interativo criou-se um espaço dinâmico e humanizado que contribuiu na interação, participação, troca de conhecimentos e aprendizagem entre os profissionais e os indivíduos do grupo terapêutico, o que favoreceu a conscientização do autocuidado integral em prol da qualidade de vida. Conclusão: ações de educação em saúde com idosos sobre Hipertensão Arterial e Diabetes Mellitus é um instrumento fundamental à promoção de saúde, prevenção de doenças e agravos. O enfermeiro é um profissional de grande importância neste processo ao estimular os indivíduos a agirem de forma a promover a saúde.
Objetivo: Investigar as ocorrências de parada cardiorrespiratória em um Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Urgência em uma cidade brasileira. Métodos: Estudo documental, retrospectivo, com abordagem quantitativa, coletados por meio de registros do sistema de informação da Central de Regulação de Urgência e Unidades Móveis do SAMU de São Luís- MA. Resultados: Houve prevalência de 727 ocorrências, destas, 587 (80,75%) eram ocorrências não cardiovasculares e 140 (19,25%) cardiovasculares. Os procedimentos mais frequentes foram a punção de acesso venoso periférico (25,64%), monitorização (12,82%), entubação (12,82%), instalação de suporte de oxigênio (10,25%), prancha longa (5,12%), aspiração, cardioversão/desfibrilação e ventilação por pressão positiva cada um com (2,56%). Conclusão: O conhecimento do perfil da vítima e do atendimento pré-hospitalar na parada cardiorrespiratória possibilita o preparo da equipe para uma melhor assistência.
Grandes desafios têm sido vivenciados desde o surgimento do novo Coronavírus, vírus responsável por provocar uma infecção que apresenta espectro clínico muito amplo, podendo variar de um simples resfriado a quadros de síndrome respiratória aguda grave. Alguns grupos de pessoas são mais suscetíveis a desenvolver as formas mais graves da doença, como idosos e portadores de comorbidades. Diante da alta transmissibilidade e gravidade da doença, tratamentos de saúde foram descontinuados devido à suspensão de serviços de saúde eletivos. Mediante a necessidade de continuar com o acompanhamento destes pacientes, a utilização de ferramentas tecnológicas foram amplamente divulgadas com o intuito de amenizar impactos negativos na saúde integral do idoso. O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar os determinantes sociais de saúde e as condições clínicas de idosos, por meio de uma tecnologia em saúde, tipo software, como instrumento para monitoramento da saúde dos idosos infectados pela COVID-19. Trata-se de um estudo transversal, realizado com idosos diagnosticados com hipertensão arterial sistêmica (HAS) e/ou diabetes mellitus (DM), que testaram positivo para COVID-19. A coleta de dados ocorreu em janeiro de 2022 utilizando o software para acompanhamento de pacientes com COVID-19, e se deu em quatro momentos: I-Ligação telefônica; II-Envio, via WhatsApp ou correio eletrônico, de google forms com Termo de Consentimento Livre e Esclarecido; III -Envio do link do software para autopreenchimento; IV-Contato telefônico para avaliar o preenchimento. Utilizou-se estatística descritiva e inferencial para análise dos dados. A média de idade foi de 69 anos (± 7,2), prevalência do sexo feminino (n=34; 63,0%) e HAS (n=50; 92,6%). A maioria reside em casa (n=42; 77,8%) com rede geral de distribuição de água (n=47; 87,0%). Os sintomas mais autorreferidos, durante o período da doença, foram: tosse (n=14; 45,1%); febre (n=7; 22,6%); cefaleia (n=6; 19,3%); e dor de garganta (n=6; 19,3%). Não observou-se significância estatística entre os sintomas apresentados pelos participantes e o fato de ter sido hospitalizado ou apresentado sequelas após a cura da doença. O contato telefônico permitiu fortalecer o vínculo com os idosos e o software foi uma ferramenta facilitadora no processo de coleta, demonstrando a importância das tecnologias em saúde para o acompanhamento dos pacientes sem que precisem estar em uma unidade de saúde.
