Syntheses
of novel 18- and 16-electron monocarbon
closo-rhodacarboranes derived from
nido-B10H12CNMe3
are reported.
closo-2,7-(PPh3)2-2-H-2-Cl-1-(NMe3)-2,1-RhCB10H9
(3) and
closo-2-(PPh3)-2-Cl-1-(NMe3)-2,1-RhCB10H10
(4) were prepared by heating
Rh(PPh3)3Cl with
nido-B10H12CNMe3 in
methanol. The molecular structure of 3 was determined
by X-ray diffraction and represents the first structurally
characterized hydride complex within the family of mononuclear
icosahedral monocarbon
metallacarboranes.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
