Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS) is one of the most widely used instruments to measure cognitive functioning. The aims of this study were 1) to obtain the cognitive profile of Spanish patients with schizophrenia on the WAIS-IV; 2) to compare their profile to the profile of a healthy control group; and 3) to compare the cognitive profile of patients with schizophrenia to the performance observed in two separate previous studies in Canada and China. A sample of 99 outpatients and 99 healthy control participants, matched on age, sex, and educational level, were measured using the WAIS-IV, including 10 core subtests, 4 indices, and 2 general intelligence scores, to obtain their cognitive profile. Results showed that only the performance on the Verbal Comprehension Index and its subtests was similar in the patient and control groups. This pattern of cognitive impairment was similar to the pattern reported in the Canadian and Chinese studies.

Recópolis es la única fundación visigoda conocida arqueológicamente en la Península Ibérica. Creada durante el reinado del rey Leovigildo en el año 576, la ciudad jugó un papel crucial en el paisaje y se mantuvo como el punto focal del territorio hasta el siglo VIII. En este artículo presentamos los resultados más recientes del proyecto realizado en torno a Recópolis, en el que el paisaje se ha explorado como una construcción social, lo que permite una comprensión más completa del agrosistema. De hecho, considerando los datos paleo-biológicos y ambientales, junto con los arqueológicos, ha sido posible analizar la evolución de este complejo territorio de la Meseta Central de la Península Ibérica en la Alta Edad Media.

Este volume é fruto de uma investigação internacional altamente produtiva que reúne colegas académicos e profissionais (de campo e de museu) para discutir novos resultados e abordagens, descobertas recentes e avaliações teóricas alternativas do período de transição e transformação das cidades clássicas da Antiguidade Antiga. Peritos de uma série de países modernos participaram e apresentaram-se para ajudar a comparar e contrastar criticamente as arqueologias de diversas regiões e para debater as qualidades da arqueologia e os actuais modos de estudo. Embora uma série de artigos se tenha centrado inevitavelmente nas provas disponíveis tanto para Espanha como para Portugal, ficámos encantados por ter uma difusão de contribuições que alargaram o panorama a outros territórios do Ocidente romano tardio e do Mediterrâneo. A ênfase foi dada às imagens apresentadas pela arqueologia (trabalhos de salvamento e investigação, recentes e passados), mas os dados textuais também foram trazidos em cena por vários colaboradores.

In nonprofit organisations, a mix of financial and nonfinancial information is necessary to discharge accountability, and with this aim, social accounting emerged some years ago. Integrated reporting has been more recently developed with the aim of reporting the connections and relationships between all the factors that affect an organisation’s ability to create value over time. This paper analyses what integrated reporting can add to accountability and management in nonprofit organisations, considering that it includes performance as well as social and environmental aspects. The paper uses a case study to analyse how integrated social reporting has been implemented in some organisations and what are the particularities that must be considered to develop a model for these organisations. Semi-structured interviews with the responsible of three social organisations have been carried out to find out what improvements integrated reporting can make and what is necessary for their implementation.
