Uma das alternativas mais utilizadas no meio técnico rodoviário, caso as propriedades do solo não sejam satisfatórias para a aplicação em camadas base e sub-base de pavimentos, é a adição de materiais químicos cimentantes. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo avaliar a aplicabilidade e as características mecânicas de um solo, oriundo de uma jazida na cidade de Rondonópolis -MT, e melhorado com cimento, utilizado em uma estrutura de pavimentos flexíveis da região, levando em consideração os parâmetros demandados pelo método do DNIT. Os resultados obtidos dos ensaios de Índice de Suporte Califórnia (ISC) e expansibilidade para o solo compactado na energia normal indica aplicabilidade do solo nas camadas de subleito e reforço de subleito. O solo compactado na energia intermediária com 2% de cimento, em peso, e apresentou parâmetros necessários para a utilização em camadas de sub-base de pavimentos, ao passo que a amostra compactada na energia modificada com 4% de cimento atingiu os parâmetros mínimos para aplicação em base.
RESUMO: O carregamento dos veículos que solicitam os pavimentos, bem como a frequência e duração passa por intensas mudanças, demandando melhor desempenho dos materiais constituintes. Nesse contexto, a elaboração de um novo método de dimensionamento de pavimentos se torna fundamental, que contemple os materiais empregados na prática local. Este estudo buscou analisar o comportamento resiliente de um solo matrogrossense, conhecido como cascalho laterítico e de textura granular. Esse material é amplamente utilizado como camada de pavimento e tende a se comportar satisfatoriamente. O material foi compactado na energia intermediária e ensaiado para o módulo de resiliência (DNIT 134/18). A modelagem foi realizada para os modelos de Biarez (1962), Svenson (1980, Invariante de Tensões, Pezo et al. (1992) e NCHRP 1-37A (AASHTO, 2004). O módulo de resiliência do solo estudado apresentou valor médio elevado, na ordem dos 330 MPa, demonstrando uma boa capacidade de suporte e potencial emprego como camada de base de pavimentos locais.
RESUMO: O presente estudo busca estudar a absorção de agregados oriundos de importantes regiões geomorfológicas do Rio Grande do Sul (RS): basalto São Juvenal (SJ), riodacito (DPA) e sienogranito (SBS). Foi analisada a absorção de diferentes frações granulométricas entre agregados graúdos e miúdos. Essa análise possibilitou a construção de uma reta que relaciona a absorção do agregado e o seu diâmetro, anteriormente abordada por Kazi e Al-Mansour (1980). Fica clara uma maior absorção do riodacito, seguido do basalto e sienogranito, em concordância com a umidade de compactação das BGS na energia modificada, em concordância com os Procedimentos Rede, DNIT 134/2018 e DNIT 179/2018. Assim sendo, realizou-se também uma relação entre a absorção geral, ou seja, a absorção de cada fração de acordo com a reta obtida pela ponderação do percentual de cada fração na BGS, e a umidade ótima de compactação. Para a pedreira DPA, essa relação é bastante presente. Sugere-se aumentar o banco de dados para demais pedreiras e curvas granulométricas.
Sob o ponto de vista das solicitações de interesse nos projetos de engenharia, é imprescindível compreender a diversidade das características e do comportamento dos solos, já que eles são utilizados como um instrumento de suporte. Face a esse panorama, o presente estudo tem como propósito complementar uma base de dados do município de Cruz Alta no Rio Grande do Sul. Por consequência, foram realizados ensaios de campo e laboratório com a finalidade de avaliar a variação comportamental do solo não saturado com possível vulnerabilidade ao colapso. No campo foram realizadas três sondagens do tipo SPT e a coleta de amostras indeformadas e deformadas. Em Laboratório foram realizados ensaios de caracterização física, mecânica e de resistência. As propriedades de resistência ao cisalhamento e colapsibilidade foram avaliadas por intermédio de ensaios de cisalhamento direto convencionais. O resultado da pesquisa revelou que o solo apresenta susceptibilidade ao colapso, o que pode justificar diversas patologias observadas em construções no município.
A presente pesquisa objetivou verificar a viabilidade técnica de estabilizar um solo da formação Botucatu, extraído de jazida localizada na cidade de Alegrete/RS. O solo foi caracterizado e estabilizado com a adição de cal, cimento e cinza de casca de arroz (CCA). A cal e o cimento são amplamente utilizados na melhoria dos solos, mas o diferencial é a inclusão de porcentagens de CCA. Foram compactadas amostras em corpos de prova com a energia normal Proctor no solo natural e em misturas com adições de 10% de cal + 15 % de CCA e 10% de cimento + 15% de CCA. A escolha de traços empregados foi baseada em estudos anteriores e de acordo com o valor estipulado para o emprego de solos melhorados em camadas de base de pavimentos. Os ensaios de cisalhamento direto foram realizados em amostras no estado inundado, moldados na energia normal Proctor e após o período de cura de 7, 14, 56 e 112 dias. Os resultados comprovam o ganho de resistência com a inclusão dos agentes químicos, tanto no atrito entre as partículas como no intercepto coesivo. Em posse dos parâmetros de resistência, foram modelados taludes típicos de estradas vicinais no software Slide v2018, onde verificou-se a sua estabilização com o tráfego de veículos e diferentes condições geotécnicas.
