Atenuar la accidentalidad en nuestras ciudades latinoamericanas constituye un factor clave para que los diseñadores y los planificadores urbanos incluyan en sus propuestas diversas aproximaciones y estudios que permitan entender los comportamientos de las personas en el tema. Auscultar los mecanismos cognitivo-emocionales de los diferentes actores viales en el espacio público contribuye a la formulación de estrategias de diseño para configurar entornos seguros que reivindiquen la acción de caminar para los ciudadanos contemporáneos. Con el propósito de reducir la accidentalidad en la ciudad de Manizales, Colombia, se adelanta un estudio orientado a analizar cómo las emociones y los conocimientos de los actores viales contribuyen a cambiar su interacción con la ciudad. El horizonte metodológico del estudio es cualitativo y participativo, apoyado en orientaciones del diseño para el cambio de comportamiento, el diseño emocional y el diseño participativo (DP), con el objetivo de delinear la ruta proyectual para responder a la problemática de accidentalidad de la ciudad. Los resultados evidencian conocimientos limitados de peatones y conductores relacionados con la normatividad vial y emociones disímiles entre estos actores viales. Las conclusiones del estudio permiten proyectar un problema de diseño enfocado en desarrollar estrategias de DP que sincronicen emociones entre conductores y peatones induciendo al aprendizaje experiencial sobre normativas viales en contexto.
El Diseño comúnmente se enfoca en mejorar la vida de las personas o satisfacer sus necesidades, pero también los espacios y artefactos de Diseño que se generan a partir de esta intención, pueden influir en el comportamiento humano generando transformaciones y adaptaciones. Sin embargo, solo hasta hace poco se ha definido una especialidad del campo denominada diseño para cambio de comportamientos (DPCC), cuyo objetivo es producir prácticas humanas deseables (Niedderer et al., 2014). Esta teoría se aplica a sostenibilidad ecológica, salud y bienestar, seguridad y diseño social; sin embargo, el cambio de comportamiento es aplicado también con fines comerciales. A continuación, se presentan dos casos de estudio en proyectos de investigación en DPCC, el primero relacionado a problemáticas relacionadas con la salud como el sobrepeso y la obesidad y el segundo enfocado en seguridad peatonal en el espacio público. El escrito se enfoca en la importancia de entender y estudiar los comportamientos, emociones y conocimientos de las personas afectadas por estas situaciones complejas; y cómo desde las teorías del Diseño, la cognición y la economía conductual, se pueden generar propuestas que aporten a la solución o mejora de estas problemáticas. En este sentido, como parte del análisis metodológico de estas propuestas, se presenta además el proceso participativo de los diferentes actores involucrados, teniendo en cuenta las fases de análisis e ideación.
El proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de las técnicas de representación para arquitectos pasa por diferentes etapas en las que se requiere evaluar los resultados de aprendizaje teniendo en cuenta procesos cognitivos y las particularidades de las herramientas tradicionales y contemporáneas que semezclan para permitir idear, desarrollar y comunicar el proyecto arquitectónico. El siguiente estudio muestra una caracterización de los medios de representación para arquitectura, teniendo en cuenta diversas variables en el proceso proyectual, las cuales se clasifican según el caso de estudio planteado en las asignaturas del área de representación con los estudiantes de Arquitectura de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia en la sedeManizales. El objetivo se enfoca en reconocer la relación de los medios de representación con los resultados de aprendizaje para este programa académico. El método empleado es de carácter cualitativo, a través de reconocimiento de flujos de trabajo e inventario de medios en relación con los resultados de aprendizaje tomados del proyecto presentado para la reforma del programa y el caso de estudio en asignaturas del área de representación. El resultado del estudio presenta una cartografía de medios de representación en arquitectura, que permite navegar e identificar diferentes medios y sus características asociadas a los resultados de aprendizaje según el tipo de cognición, donde se especifican tres tipos de relaciones entre pensamiento concreto, posconcreto y formal y los medios de representación, analógicos, digitales y mixtos.
