Es ist bekannt, daB in der Familie der Primulaceen Saponine als Inhaltsstoffe weit verbreitet sind ; die therapeutische Verwendung einiger Yertreter dieser Familie griindet sich auf die Wirksamkeit dieser Saponine. Trotz einer ganzen Reihe von Arbeiten uber diesen Gegenstand sind es doch nur wenige, die sich auf die Untersuchung an krystallisiertem Material griinden und unsere Kenntnisse sind demgemaB noch gering. Neben das Cyclamin aus Cyclamen europaeuml) , die Primulasaure aus Primula officinalis*) 3) und die Sakurasosaure aus Primula Sieboldii4), ist in neuerer Zeit nur noch das krystallisierte Primulin A aus ,,handelsublicher" Primula-Droge von Ulze r und H a a s 6 ) getreten, wobei es nicht unwahrscheinlich ist, daB alle diese Saponine mit Ausnahme des Cyclamins identisch sinds).Der medizinisch wichtigste Vertreter aus der Klasse der Primulaceen ist die P r i m u l a e l a t i o r . Ihr Saponin ist trotz mehrjahriger Verwendung in der Therapie?) von der chemischen Seite her erst sehr unvollkommen untersucht worden. So geben K o f l e r und Braunere) an, da13 es ihnen gelungen sei, aus Prim. elat. ein amorphes Saponin abzuscheiden, das mit der Primulasaure nicht identisch ist. Zu dem gleichen Ergebnis kommen auch U l z e r und Haass), die daruber hinaus einige Angaben uber die Konstanten des amorphen Saponins machen. Ob das krystallisierte Primulin A etwa mit der Koflerschen Primulasaure identisch ist bzw. das amorphe Primulin B mit dem Lindnerschen amorphen Saponin aus Prim. offic.3) und der im folgenden beschriebenen Elatiorsaure, laat sich jedoch auf Grund der sparlichen Angaben nicht entscheiden.Die fur die vorliegende Untersuchung verwendete Droge bestand in Ubereinstimmung rnit dem Befund von Kof ler fur die handelsubliche Radix Primulae im wesentlichen aus Prim. elat., vermischt mit etwas Prim. offic. Dieses Ergebnis wurde vom Hamburgischen Staatsinstitut fur angewandte Botanik bestatigt. Da das Saponin dieser Droge ebenso wie das der Prim. offic. einen ausgepragt sauren Charakter hat, wurde diese Eigenschaft seiner Isolierung zugrunde gelegt und die Extraktion mit wa13rigem Ammoniak vorgenommen. Beim Ansauern fallt das Saponin aus, wird nach einer Reinigung rnit Kohle in das krystallisierte Kalium-oder Ammoniumsalz ubergefiihrt und durch neue Zerlegung mit verdiinnten Mineralsauren wieder in Freiheit gesetzt. Das so erhaltene Saponin, fur das wir die Bezeichnung ,,Elatiorsaure" vorschlagen, bildet amorphe Korner. Es ist offenbar einheitlich, da die analytischen Werte, optische Drehung und Farbreaktionen bei verschiedenen Darstellungen stets die gleichen sind und auch durch eioe mehrfache Reinigung uber das krystallisierte Ammoniumsalz nicht verandert werden. l) D a f e r t , Arch.
