Endovascular repair of infrarenal aortic aneurysms with the first- and second-generation devices that predominated in this study was associated with a risk of late failure, according to an analysis of observed hard end points of 3% per year. Action taken to address the risk factors identified by the study may improve results in the future.
CG is feasible and efficient to treat JAA in patients unsuitable for FBE. However, in this preliminary experience, complications of devices insertion and type I endoleaks were not rare. Until the anatomic applicability of FBE is extended and off-the-shelf FBE devices are available, CG remains a feasible endovascular option for high-risk JAA patients.
Acute graft limb occlusion is not rare after EVAR. The frequency of limb occlusion has declined with current stent grafts generation. Although surgery and endovascular treatments are efficient and safe, development of a graft limb kink should lead to aggressive pre-emptive treatment to prevent occlusion.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
