Endovascular repair of infrarenal aortic aneurysms with the first- and second-generation devices that predominated in this study was associated with a risk of late failure, according to an analysis of observed hard end points of 3% per year. In patients with low to intermediate risk factors, open repair of AAA is as safe as EVAR and remains a more durable option.

CG is feasible and efficient to treat JAA in patients unsuitable for FBE. However, in this preliminary experience, complications of devices insertion and type I endoleaks were not rare. Until the anatomic applicability of FBE is extended and off-the-shelf FBE devices are available, CG remains a feasible endovascular option for high-risk JAA patients.

Acute graft limb occlusion is not rare after EVAR. The frequency of limb occlusion has declined with current stent grafts generation. Although surgery and endovascular treatments are efficient and safe, development of a graft limb kink should lead to aggressive pre-emptive treatment to prevent occlusion.

CI remains a serious complication following AAA repair. In the univariate analysis, EVAR was associated with a lower rate of colonic ischemia. However, the logistic regression analysis showed that only rupture, long duration of operation, and prior renal disease were independently associated with CI. Within the two treatment modalities, the mortality rate remained identical.
