La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo comparar el nivel de conocimiento sobre el COVID-19 entre estudiantes de la carrera de odontología y de otras carreras de la Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo no afines a las Ciencias de la Salud. Se realizó una investigación descriptiva de corte transversal con un enfoque mixto. De los 600 estudiantes seleccionados, se establecieron dos grupos que cumplieron con los criterios de selección; el primero estuvo formado por 300 estudiantes de la Carrera de Odontología y el segundo grupo lo conformaron 300 estudiantes pertenecientes a varias carreras universitarias ajenas a las ciencias de la salud. Las técnicas de investigación utilizadas fueron la encuesta y el test con el cuestionario como instrumento. Se demostró que existen diferencias entre los grupos estudiados en esta investigación (p= 0.000) con relación a las calificaciones obtenidas, al igual que se determinó una correlación positiva escasa entre el nivel de conocimiento y el semestre de formación (p= 0,012). Se concluyó que la diferencia porcentual es mínima en el nivel de conocimiento sobre COVID-19 entre los dos grupos estudiados, sin embargo, se evidenció una diferencia significativa desde el punto de vista estadístico.
