To master English, students must learn many things, including about grammar in order to use English properly and correctly. There are a number of ways lecturers can do to support teaching and learning process, one of which is by making use of technology to develop learning media. Using media is expected to make learning process about grammar enjoyable. This research aims to develop learning media using VideoScribe for the subject of Present Continuous Tense which is one of the materials studied by odd semester students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau. This research further designs, implements and tests the feasibility of the learning media. This research is a research and development (R&D) model with ADDIE which consists of 5 stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The subjects of this study were undergraduate students majoring in non-English Department which consisted of 35 students in odd semester. The results of alpha testing, expert material assessment showed that the media that were designed was in a very good category with an average score of 4.26. Meanwhile, for trials with students, the video animation media using VideoScribe was in a very good category with an average score of 4.25. Therefore, it can be concluded that the instructional media designed is suitable to be used to support teaching and learning activities.
This research aims to find out the effectiveness of using duolingo application to improve students' speaking and listening skills. The research was carried out at SMP IT Al-Hafit Pekanbaru involving 58 students in the 8 th Grade as the research sample. This study uses quantitative research methods with the ASSURE model (Analyze, State, Select, Utilize, Require, and Evaluate). The result obtained from the use of duolingo in class VIII.1 on speaking and listening skills of the "t" value with df 31 at the 0.05/5% level is 2,042, while the results obtained from using duolingo in class VIII.2 for speaking and listening skills of the "t" value with df 27 at the 0.05/5% level is 2,052. The results of each ability show that the students' speaking ability of class VIII.1 is 5.5> 2,042 and their listening ability is 4.48> 2,042. The students' speaking ability of class VIII.2 is 5.17> 2.052, while their listening ability is 5.10> 2,042 (the "t" table is each greater than the "t" value). This demonstrates that the use of duolinggo to improve speaking and listening skills in junior high school students is proven to be effective.
The utilization of mobile technologies such as smart phone to support English language teaching (ELT) has attracted many teachers, including those teaching in English Courses. This research aims at exploring practices and voices of English Course teachers in utilizing mobile technologies in their teaching practice. This study employs qualitative approach where three English course teachers are involved as research participants. In collecting data, semi-structured interviews are employed. The research findings show that all three participants are in line if mobile technologies are advantageous in a way such technologies can help students in learning English. From the data analysis, there are two emerging themes voiced by the participants, namely advantages and barriers regarding the utilization of mobile technologies in ELT. They are all in agreement that mobile devices allow students to experience more learning opportunities where they can quickly obtain information, experience many ways of learning, and capable of studying anytime and anywhere. On the other hand, some barriers are also revealed. The teachers are concerned with the issue of device as distraction.
Teaching skills are teaching abilities that must be possessed by teachers. The method used is library research. data collection in research is carried out by examining and exploring from books, journals, documents (both printed and electronic), as well as other sources of data and information that are considered relevant to research or studies. Teaching skills consist of 8 components, namely opening skills and closing lessons, explaining skills, varying skills, strengthening skills, asking questions, managing classes, teaching small groups and individuals, and guiding small group discussions. aims to enable teachers to carry out their teaching duties effectively, efficiently and professionally, as well as guide students to be mentally prepared, think critically, easily understand lessons and be motivated. Integrating the values of Islamic education in guided teaching skills is basically forms of behavior or abilities that are specific or professional and fundamental to carrying out noble tasks in a guided manner in obtaining professional and Islamic teachers.
The important factors considered in choosing the location of each supermarket are different. For a supermarket or mini market, the most important factor is being close to consumers. To achieve the goals of a good marketing company, it is necessary to have the right marketing strategy, including pricing by paying attention to changes in consumer behaviour. This study aims to determine the effect of location and price on shopping decisions at Gelael Practical Makassar. This study uses quantitative analytical research methods. The results of this study found that location and price had a significant effect on shopping decisions; Price has a significant effect partially on shopping decisions. Price is the main variable that influences consumer evaluation of the product to be purchased; Meanwhile, the results of multiple linear regression analysis show that consumer decisions are more influenced by price than location, in shopping decisions at Gelael Practical Makassar. It is recommended that the company can pay attention to other factors that exist to further improve the shopping decision.
