Versuche uber das Dauerschwing-und Dauerstandverhalten von Blei in konzentrierter Schwefelsaure bei erhohter Temperatur (1) haben gezeigt, dai3 elektrochemische Messungen allein nicht genugen, um das Korrosions-und Passivverhalten des Metalls unter diesen Versuchsbedingungen befriedigend zu erklaren. Es erschien deshalb sinnvoll, potentiostatische Messungen an einer Bleisorte durch elektronenoptische Untersuchungsmethoden zu erganzen.Die Bleikorrosion wird in heifier konzentrierter Schwefelsaure vor allem durch Redoxreaktionen der Saure kompliziert, so dai3 sich die umfangreichen, bei Raumtemperatur in verdunnter Losung gewonnenen Erkenntnisse (2 bis 4) nicht ohne weiteres auf extreme Versuchsbedingungen iibertragen lassen.Besonderes Interesse galt natiirlich auch hier der Frage, ob allein eine Bleisulfatschicht bestimmter Morphologie fur das Passivverhalten des M e t a h verantwortlich ist, oder ob der Passivzustand primar durch eine andere Verbindung hervorgerufen wird. I m Verlauf der Arbeit hat sich ergeben, dag die Beantwortung dieser Frage auf experimentelle Schwierigkeiten stofit.
Die hohe Korrosionsbeständigkeit von Blei in Schwefelsäure beruht auf der Bildung einer dichten, nahezu unlöslichen Deckschicht aus Bleisulfat. Um jedoch einen dauerhaften Korrosionsschutz zu erzielen, muß geprüft werden, wie weit diese Schicht die aus einer Schwingungs ‐ oder Kriechbeanspruchung resultierenden Verformungen unbeschadet zu ertragen vermag. In Ermüdungsversuchen unter Schwefelsäure zeigte sich, daß die Passivschicht aus Bleisulfat bei höheren Schwingungsamplituden unter gleichzeitigem Ansteigen des Korrosionsverlustes zerstört wird. Von den geprüften Feinbleisorten verhielt sich Kupferfeinblei mit 0,05 % Cu am günstigsten. Nickelfeinblei mit 0,025 % Ni zeigte sehr niedrige Dauerfestigkeitswerte und eine ausgeprägte Tendenz zur interkristallinen Korrosion. Von der Verwendung des reinen Bleis wird wegen seines ausgeprägten Instabilitätsverhaltens während der Passivierung abgeraten. Hartblei mit 0,4% so verhielt sich hingegen ausgesprochen günstig und wies bis zu einer Säurekonzentrationvon 80% und einer Temperatur von 53° C die höchsten Dauerschwingfestigkeitswerte auf. Bei den Kriechversuchen unter Schwefelsäure hat sich gezeigt, daß die Passivschicht bei stetiger Kriechverformung bis zu 0,4% Tag nicht beschädigt wird und ihre Korrosionsschutzwirkung beibehält. Die Anwendung eines von Stern und Mitarbeitern angegebenen elektrischen Meßverfahrens, um den Gewichtsverlust von Blei in Schwefelsäure zu bestimmen, erwies sich als gut geeignet.
Die Heißsalz‐SRK von legiertem Titan beruht, wie umfangreiche Untersuchungen gezeigt haben, maßgeblich auf einer Werkstoffversprödung durch Wasserstoff, der durch intermediär gebildetes HC aufgenommen wird. Chlorwasserstoff entsteht vermutlich durch Pyrohydrolyse von AlCl3 · 6 H2O, mit dem bei der Korrosion allen aluminiumhaltigen Titanlegierungen zu rechnen ist und das einen Schmelzpunkt von 193 °C hat. Ferner scheint festzustehen, daß durch den Legierungszusatz Aluminium die Entstehung von Chlor während der Heißsalzkorrosion von Titan beschleunigt wird. Chlor zerstört nicht nur die Passivschicht des Titans, sondern löst durch selektiven Angriff auf Korngrenzen und Versetzungsanhäufungen unmittelbar SRK aus. Um in dieser Beziehung korrosionsbeständingere Werkstoffe zu erhalten, wird man den Aluminiumgehalt reduzieren und weitere Legierungspartner, wie z. B. Mo, Zr und Si, wählen müssen, die das Korrosionsverhalten des Titanwerkstoffs nicht oder nur wenig beeinträchtigen, zum anderen aber auch durch Verbesserung der Festigkeitseigenschaften und des Langzeitverhaltens den fehlenden Aluminiumgehalt beim Titan ausgleichen können.
