An FelsenbeinprÄparaten wurden anatomische Untersuchungen des Cavum tympani mit dem Endoskop durchgefÜhrt. Bei demselben transtympanalen Zugang wurden unterschiedliche Endoskope mit 0°, 30° und 70° Sichtwinkel verglichen. Mit Winkeloptiken konnte das gesamte Cavum tympani bei nur geringer Trommelfelltraumatisation inspiziert werden. Auch dem Operationsmikroskop verborgene Strukturen konnten aus nÄchster NÄhe unter idealen LichtverhÄltnissen photographiert werden. Die Beurteilbarkeit der Rundfensternische, insbesondere der Membrana tympani secundaria, zeigte sich von der individuellen Anatomie (Fenestra-cochleae-Variationstypen) abhÄngig.
Dreissig selektierte Patienten wurden mittels transtympanaler Endoskopie untersucht. Die Optiken wurden unter LokalanÄsthesie nach Myringotomie oder durch bereits bestehende Trommelfellperforationen ins Mittelohr eingefÜhrt. Starre Endoskope mit einem Aussendurchmesser von 1,9 mm und flexible Endoskope mit 1,5 mm Aussendurchmesser wurden verwendet. Das Verfahren erÖffhet eine neue visuelle Dimension in der Beschreibung der chirurgischen Mikromorphologie und der Exploration von pathologischen Prozessen im Mittelohr.
