Absf" -The paper presents basic operational chararteristics of a 750-W &phase 8/6 switched reluctance generator (SRG) through experimental observation. A dmedloop control of the DC-bus voltage was successfolly done using only phase currents as control parameters. In this method tnmon and tnm-ofl angles were fixed, while each phase current was controlled by soft chopping techniques @I plus PWM). The DCbus voltage.was constantly maintained at 100 V under various situations. A standard asymmetrlc half-bridge converter was chosen for this study. Meanwhile, the real-time control was implemented in DS1102 digital signal processor @SP) environment. The experimental results bave shown acceptable performance of this SRG control system in both normal and under-fault conditions. Optimal excitation angle control will he included in the fntnre work to obtaln improved performance and improved efiideney. i
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
