Over the past decade, the application of carbocatalyst systems has been preferred over that of homogeneous catalytic systems because of their advantages such as physical and thermal stability of the catalysts in successive reaction runs and reusability.
A novel and efficient graphene oxide derivatives‐catalyzed cyanosilylation of aldehydes was developed using trimethylsilyl cyanide (TMSCN) as the cyanide source under metal‐free and ultrasound irradiation. In this important reaction, the C−C and O−Si bonds were formed without transition metal. The corresponding cyanohydrin trimethylsilyl ethers were obtained in good to excellent yields. In addition, the catalyst was reusable for six catalytic cycles without remarkable decreasing in its activity.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
