Este artigo busca reconstruir, estabelecer e confrontar dentro da historiografia geral sobre Marsílio Ficino (1433-1499), filósofo e teólogo florentino, um de seus eixos principais, ou seja, o interesse pelo Hermetismo. Ficino foi um dos principais nomes em torno do ressurgimento do interesse pelo Hermetismo e a sabedoria antiga no Renascimento (séc. XV). Nossos objetivos consistem em estabelecer um quadro comparativo entre alguns de seus estudiosos e buscar compreender qual lugar e importância é atribuída ao Hermetismo na historiografia sobre Marsílio Ficino desenvolvida na História da Filosofia e História das Ideias, percebendo quais as tendências historiográficas e em que categorias os historiadores utilizaram para definir o lugar do Hermetismo em seu pensamento e obra, e qual a importância histórica de Marsílio Ficino para o desenvolvimento do Hermetismo no Renascimento. Por Hermetismo estamos nos referindo aos antigos escritos atribuídos a Hermes Trismegistos, caracterizados enquanto autor e autoridade deste escritos. Esta literatura foi produzida por volta dos séc. I e III d.C que versam sobre temas religiosos, filosóficos, cosmológicos, soteriológico e mágicos.
Neste artigo buscamos apresentar o Argumentum de Marsílio Ficino à sua tradução da Hermetica Teórica, intitulada por ele de Pimander De Potestate et Sapientia Dei, conhecido modernamente como Corpus Hermeticum. Buscamos compreender a visão de Ficino acerca destes escritos e seus pressupostos. Podemos perceber neste curto texto como Ficino organiza todo o seu argumento em torno da teologia antiga ou prisca theologia, e quais são as suas fontes. Mercúrio Trismegistos é colocado como o mais antigo teólogo e divinamente inspirado. Neste texto, Ficino nos apresenta uma das versões da genealogia dos antigos teólogos que culmina no seu divino Platão. Esta composição é fundamental tanto para se compreender a forma que a prisca theologia se conforma entre os renascentistas, quanto para se perceber a importância assumida por Mercúrio Trismegistos no decorrer dos séc. XV e XVI. As fontes de Ficino neste breve empreendimento são Platão, Lactâncio, Cícero e Agostinho de Hipona.

Este artigo busca compreender a concepção de Marsílio Ficino acerca do caso do daemon socrático em seu comentário à Apologia de Sócrates de Platão. O argumento de Ficino sobre o daemon socrático fundamenta-se na agência demoníaca sobre a mente humana. Neste sentido, analisamos seu comentário buscando clarificar suas ideias, noções e suas fontes médio-platônicas e neoplatônicas. Afirmamos que Ficino ao argumentar acerca do daemon pessoal produz um argumento demonológico com associações à noção de furor divino, principalmente o furor profético. Além disso, Ficino defende a noção do daemon enquanto mediador, guia e destino que se aproxima de sua magia natural apresentada no De Vita.
