Esta pesquisa teórica de natureza qualitativa, desenvolvida a partir de levantamento e análise bibliográfica, pretende apresentar uma possível relação entre a existência da crise sanitária de Coronavírus Covid-19, como reflexo da crise ecológica à luz do projeto ético do princípio responsabilidade proposto por Hans Jonas (1903-1993). Para isso, parte-se da seguinte questão: em que medida é possível estabelecer uma relação entre a crise sanitária de Covid-19 como reflexo da crise ecológica à luz da teoria do projeto da ética da responsabilidade em Hans Jonas? Nossa hipótese, apoiada em Jonas, é de que a crise sanitária atual, resultado do desmedido progresso técnico-científico empregado pelo capital econômico, desde a modernidade na exploração da natureza, representa um alerta social dramático, em razão de suas consequências destrutivas para o futuro da humanidade e da biosfera, o que implica para o presente de nossa “civilização tecnológica” um dever de responsabilidade coletiva de preservação da natureza, respeitando-a como ser de dignidade própria, e uso prudente do saber técnico-científico, condição sine qua non para a manutenção de toda a vida na Terra.
O presente trabalho tem por objetivo analisar a representação da morte entre indivíduos e o espaço cemiterial na baixada maranhense, com base no capítulo IV, A memória coletiva e o espaço, da obra A Memória Coletiva de Maurice Halbwachs (1990). Diante disso, nos questionamos: como o pensamento de Halbwachs nos possibilita pensar a relação da memória dos indivíduos sobre a morte no espaço cemiterial da Baixada Maranhense? Para alcançar o objetivo proposto e responder a esta questão, adotamos o seguinte percurso metodológico: realizamos análises de diários de campos e imagens produzidas como fontes históricas pelo pesquisador; fizemos a analogia com as relações vivenciadas no espaço cemiterial. Por fim, concluiu-se que a ligação entre teoria e prática dos estudos de Halbwachs sobre memória coletiva contribuem com a interpretação social das significações do espaço atribuídas pelos grupos aos seus lugares de vivência. No espaço cemiterial da Baixada Maranhense, pensar a memória da morte dentro da complexa rede de relações coletivas significa perceber que nenhuma lembrança dos mortos pode vir a existir senão por meios dos objetos criados pelo homem. As formas de sepultamentos e os locais destinados aos mortos, além de estarem dentro de um contexto histórico próprio, possuem suas particularidades delineadas através dos objetos materiais, sobretudo, os cofos e as velas
