Zur Erinnerung an meinen Freund Ulrich von HundetshausenDiese Arbeit verdankt ihr Entstehen dem Wunsch, Beispiele zu konstruieren fiir das Zusammenblasen von Deformationen der Aufl/3sung einer rationalen Singularit~it zu Deformationen der Singularit~it selbst (vgl. [13]). Der Einfachheit halber haben wir uns dabei zun~ichst auf diejenigen rationaten Singularit~iten beschr~inkt, ftir die der zu dem exzeptionellen Kurvensystem einer minimalen AufliSsung gehiSrende duale Graph unverzweigt ist. Dies sind bekanntlich die zweidimensionalenIm allgemeinen sind also die Singularitaten X.,q keine vollst~indigen Durchschnitte. Trotzdem gelingt es, alle Relationen zwischen den deftnierenden Gleichungen zu bestimmen ( § 4) und eine interessante Familie yon Singularitaten mit spezieller Faser X.,~ zu konstruieren ( § 5). Die Singularitaten der Nachbarfasern von X.,q in dieser Familie sind alle vom Typ X.,q,; wir sind in der Lage, samtliche Graphen der auftretenden Singularit~iten anzugeben. Die Familie besitzt stets eine einparametrige Unterfamilie mit singularit~tenfreier allgemeiner Faser. Dies impliziert:Keine Singularitiit Xn, q ist starr, Die Aufl6sung X.,q von X.,q besitzt ebenfalls eine kanonische Deformation ( § 6). Wit k6nnen zeigen, dab durch Zusammenblasen dieser Deformation (im wesentlichen) die obige Deformation yon X.,~ entsteht. Somit findet die in § 5 beschriebene Variation der Graphen ihre Er-kl~irung in dem analogen Verhalten von exzeptionellen Kurven bei Deformation der umgebenden Mannigfaltigkeit. Es k6nnen dabei die folgenden Ph~inomene auftreten: (i) Irreduzible Komponenten verschwinden. (ii) Zwei sich transversal schneidende Komponenten mit Selbstschnittzahl -b 1 bzw. -b 2 vereinigen sich zu einer einzigen singulariffitenfreien rationalen Kurve mit Selbstschnittzahl -(b 1 + b 2 -2).Wir geben schlieBlich ( § 7) eine Formel f'tir die Dimension des Vektorraumes aller infinitesimalen Deformationen von X.,~ an, die Mum-Deformationen von Quotientensingularit~iten 213 fords Formel [9] far X,,1, den Kegel tiber der rationalen Kurve vom Grad n in IP,, verallgemeinert. Aus ihr folgt, dab die in § 5 angegebene Deformation im Falle der Einbettungsdimension e = eibA,,q> 5 nicht versell ist. Ffir e = 4 (wie ftir e = 3), stimmt sie jedoch mit der verselten Deformation iiberein. Wir konstruieren noch die verselle Familie fiir e = 5 , womit das Ergebnis von Pinkham [12] f'tir X4,1 verallgemeinert wird. Im Gegensatz zu [t2], wo man mit einfachen Homogenit~itsbetrachtungen auskommt, erfordert unser Beweis eine gr6Bere Rechnung. Obwohl auf dieselbe Weise auch die h6heren Einbettungsdimensionen behandelt werden k6nnen, verzichten wir wegen des untiberschaubar werdenden Rechenaufwandes auf die Durchf'tihrung und be-schr~inken uns auf einige weitere Bemerkungen zum Fall e = 6. Ftir die Kegel X,, 1 kann man vollst~indige Ergebnisse bei Pinkham finden.Eine Reihe von Problemen konnte in dieser Arbeit noch nicht ab-schlieBend gekl~irt werden. EinleitungEs sei X eine kompakte K~ihlersche Mannigfaltigkeit, K das kanonische Geradenbiindel von X und F ~ X ein positives komplex-analytisches Geradenbiindel. Dann gilt, wie Kodaira [9] zeigte, nv(s,F| v> l, wobei F bzw. K die Garbe der Keime von holomorphen Schnitten in F bzw. K bezeichnet. Man kann einen entsprechenden Satz auch fiir positive Vektorraumbtindel beweisen (Nakano [12]). In der vorliegenden Arbeit soil eine l~bertragung dieses Resultates auf kompakte komplexe R~iume vorgenommen werden. Dazu ist es zun~ichst notwendig, fiir beliebige komplexe R~iume X eine kanonische Garbe K=K(X) zu definieren. Wir gehen folgendermaBen vor: Nach Hironaka [7] gibt es zu jedem (reduzierten) komplexen Raum (mit zus~itzlichen Eigenschaften) eine eigentliche Modifikation (X, n), bei der ~" eine Mannigfaltigkeit ist. Wir definieren dann die kanonische Garbe __K als das (nullte) direkte Bild nto)(~) der kanonischen Garbe/~ von ~'. K ist eine torsionsfreie koh~irente analytische Garbe auf X, die unabh~ingig vonder Modifikation ()(,n) definiert ist (w -Das Hauptresultat l~iBt sich dann entsprechend dem Verschwindungssatz von Nakano formulieren: Es sei X ein Moigezon-Raum, d. h. ein irreduzibler kompakter komplexer Raum der Dimension n, der n unabhi~ngige meromorphe Funktionen besitzt, es sei V--~ X ein positives Vektorraumbiindel und K die kanonische Garbe yon X.
