A continuación, se presentan resultados de la investigación “Parque Mitológico y Jardín Botánico mitbot: Una mirada a la naturaleza a través del arte” desarrollado como Proyecto Ambiental Escolar en el Colegio Cooperativo La Presentación del municipio de Garzón, Huila, Colombia. El estudio se realizó con 103 estudiantes de la Institución Educativa utilizando el enfoque cualitativo en la investigación e implementando las salidas de campo como estrategia de educación ambiental. La construcción del parque ha dado lugar a 3 actividades investigativas que se han planeado y ejecutado desde el currículo escolar: enseñanza de la diversidad vegetal a través de la identificación taxonómica de especies vegetales, adecuación de aula bosque, reverdecimiento y elaboración de trazados geométricos, y enseñanza de mitos y leyendas de la región con esculturas artísticas elaboradas en material reciclable.Los hallazgos muestran que el parque mitbot se ha convertido en una herramienta utilizada para la enseñanza-aprendizaje de la educación ambiental, permitiendo crear conciencia en la comunidad educativa de la riqueza vegetal y el legado cultural de la región. Con relación a las salidas de campo, propician la interacción del estudiante con las necesidades ambientales del entorno inmediato y dan paso a la autonomía en el proceso de aprendizaje.
A continuación presentamos la propuesta sobre las aproximaciones a las concepciones acerca de diversidad vegetal en estudiantes de Octavo grado de la Institución Educativa Eugenio Ferro Falla, Campoalegre, Huila, desarrollada en el interior del Grupo de Investigación y Pedagogía en Biodiversidad y el semillero Mamakiwe adscrito al programa de Licenciatura en Ciencias Naturales y Educación Ambiental de la Universidad Surcolombiana de Neiva. Presentamos una investigación realizada sobre las aproximaciones que tienen los estudiantes de básica Secundaria especialmente de grado octavo de una Institución Educativa sobre el concepto de Diversidad Vegetal, permitiendo establecer 3 tendencias, aquellas indican sobre lo que los estudiantes, mediante su diario vivir, sus aprendizajes dentro y fuera del aula, y sus gustos, entienden por Diversidad Vegetal; estas jerarquías se definieron a partir de las respuestas que arrojó un cuestionario que fue aplicado a los estudiantes, y se definieron las siguientes categorías: “Diversidad como diferentes plantas”, “Diversidad como presencia de Plantas” y “Diversidad como desarrollo de la planta”.
