A ocorrência de eventos adversos (EA) em instituições hospitalares, rotineiramente, é vista como indicador da qualidade da assistência prestada. O presente estudo teve como objetivo principal avaliar o conhecimento dos profissionais de enfermagem em relação a tais eventos decorrentes da assistência à saúde. Estudo quantitativo, transversal, analítico, realizado com 45 profissionais de enfermagem, selecionados por conveniência, no período de janeiro a julho 2015, por meio de aplicação de questionários autoaplicáveis, em um hospital público do interior de Rondônia. Os resultados do estudo mostram que 31% dos pesquisados desconhecem o que são EA relacionados assistência à saúde; 36% não souberam identificar suas causas; e 16 % não souberam identificar condutas adequadas diante da ocorrência de um EA. O estudo mostrou ser necessária a implantação de normas, rotinas, protocolos assistenciais e treinamentos destinados a promover conhecimento, harmonia e conscientização entre os membros da equipe, visando à segurança dos clientes assistidos e a melhoria da qualidade do atendimento prestado.
O presente artigo trata-se de uma revisão integrativa de literatura, cujo objetivo central é discutir o conceito de vulnerabilidade e descrever os estudos acerca da temática vulnerabilidade e envelhecimento humano. Foram realizadas buscas nas plataformas CAPES, BVS e PUBMED, utilizando os descritores, vulnerability study, aged, older person, older people, durante o período de janeiro a março de 2019. Utilizou-se 27 publicações para a confecção do presente artigo, organizadas em cinco temáticas distintas: conceito de vulnerabilidade; estudos sobre percepção/significado de vulnerabilidade; estudos teóricos sobre vulnerabilidade; ferramentas e índices de vulnerabilidade; estudos empíricos de prevalência e fatores associados à vulnerabilidade. A literatura dispõe diferentes conceitos para os diferentes contextos aplicáveis à vulnerabilidade. Para o idoso, quase sempre vulnerabilidade está relacionada a incapacidades físicas e dependência. Existem diversas publicações destinadas a adaptar e validar instrumentos. Foram levantados diversos fatores associados à vulnerabilidade, dentre os quais destacaram-se a incapacidade funcional, as doenças crônicas e a depressão.
Trata-se de uma revisão de literatura, de 13 publicações, objetivando identificar a prevalência de vulnerabilidade em idosos e fatores associados. A busca foi realizada nas plataformas Portal CAPES, BVS Saúde e PUBMED, durante o período de 10 e 13 de março de 2020. Os resultados deste estudo demonstraram que a prevalência de vulnerabilidade oscilou de 32% entre idosos da comunidade até 89% entre os idosos hospitalizados. Sendo as principais variáveis associados à presença de vulnerabilidade: fatores sociodemográficos (idade, sexo, escolaridade), funcionais (incapacidade funcional), psicoemocionais (delirium, tristeza, desânimo, depressão, declínio cognitivo), autopercepção de saúde, doença cardíaca, polifarmácia e limitações sensoriais.
O presente estudo trata-se de um relato de caso de um paciente pediátrico acometido pela Síndrome de Steven Johnson (SSJ)/Necrólise Epidérmica Tóxica (NET). O objetivo do presente relato é descrever o caso de um paciente pediátrico com SSJ/NET, discutir as manifestações clínicas, diagnóstico e tratamento, além de sugerir uma proposta de diagnósticos e intervenções de enfermagem baseada nos problemas levantados. Conclui-se que a imunoglobulinoterapia mostrou-se eficaz no tratamento e que a implementação da assistência de enfermagem pode ser considerada parte essencial no tratamento da SSJ/NET.
