Introducción: Este artículo es producto de la investigación “Aprendizaje por descubrimiento utilizando OVA en el desarrollo del laboratorio de física mecánica”; trabajo de grado presentado como requisito para optar al Título de Magister en Docencia Universitaria de la Universidad de Nariño en el año 2018.Objetivo: proponer la implementación de una estrategia didáctica de aprendizaje significativo por descubrimiento, que se adapte mejor al entorno del laboratorio de Física Mecánica de la Universidad de Nariño, aplicando metodología ASSURE, con el uso de OVA que mejore los procesos de aprendizaje en el Laboratorio de Física Mecánica.Metodología: La metodología empleada en la investigación es ASSURE, con el uso de un OVA de la segunda ley de newton. A partir de ésta, se obtuvo mejores resultados durante el proceso de aprendizaje por parte de los estudiantes en el Laboratorio. Resultados: Los resultados siguiendo las etapas del modelo instruccional ASSURE, se presentan para la etapa de análisis, de establecimiento de objetivos, de selección de métodos, etapa de uso métodos-tecnología, de participación y evaluación.Conclusión: El uso de estrategias de enseñanza- aprendizaje didácticas y virtuales abre espacios donde los docentes implementan nuevas metodologías y tecnologías que induzca a nuevas perspectivas y motiven en mayor medida el interés en los estudiantes.Originalidad: La aplicación de la metodología ASSURE, favorece la adquisición de conocimientos teórico- experimentales sobre todo en las prácticas de laboratorio.Limitaciones: Este proyecto permite observar que los enlaces de comunicación y apoyo entre la Universidad y los educadores deben mejorarse (bajo estándares normativos) para que al momento de la aplicación de nuevos métodos de enseñanza se puedan aplicar de manera efectiva, para enriquecer más el conocimiento de los educandos y reforzar su pedagogía al momento de enseñar.
