Las familias, en la actualidad, enfrentan nuevos retos y cambios que comprometen su capacidad de adaptación y su bienestar. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo describir y comparar indicadores de resiliencia familiar y bienestar familiar de 442 familias colombianas ubicadas geográficamente en Bogotá (n = 196), Santa Marta (n = 81) y Cali-Palmira (n = 145). El diseño fue analítico transversal. Las familias diligenciaron el Índice Familiar de Regeneración y Adaptación (FIRA-G) para valorar la resiliencia y el Índice de Bienestar de los miembros de la Familia (FMWB). Los resultados demostraron relaciones significativas y positivas entre bienestar familiar y resiliencia familiar al igual que una relación inversa y significativa entre indicadores de resiliencia negativos como tensión, distrés y tensión familiar con indicadores positivos de resiliencia familiar tales como coherencia, fortaleza y apoyo social. La comparación entre ciudades evidenció divergencias entre las familias de Bogotá y Cali-Palmira, en los niveles de bienestar familiar, estresores familiares y apoyo de parientes y amigos. En el caso de la ciudad de Santa Marta se encuentran diferencias en los estresores familiares con Cali-Palmira y en apoyo social comunitario con Bogotá. La discusión se orienta a mostrar que la resiliencia familiar es resultado de la participación de varios elementos: los recursos familiares adaptativos positivos que le permiten a las familias reducir el estrés y enfrentar las demandas del ambiente, la presencia de los dos padres en familias sin indicadores clínicos que hace que la carga de estrés sea compartida –lo cual abona el terreno para la resiliencia familiar–, y el apoyo social manifestado en ayudas externas al núcleo familiar por parte de la comunidad, los parientes y los amigos.
El presente artículo reporta el proceso de diseño y validación del instrumento de evaluación de la calidad narrativa (ecan), cuyo objetivo es permitir la valoración de relatos ficticios producidos de manera oral y espontánea. La fase de diseño implicó la identificación de los criterios de evaluación, su operacionalización y ponderación. Una prueba piloto y un proceso de evaluación de intercodificadores permitieron su ajuste. Posteriormente, se llevó a cabo un proceso de validación empírica, en un corpus de 184 relatos producidos por 66 madres colombianas a través del Attachment Script Assessment. El análisis estadístico —como los coeficientes de alpha de Cronbach e interclase, chi cuadrado, las pruebas de Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin y de esfericidad de Bartlett, y un análisis de conglomerado bietápico— mostró que el instrumento alcanza una alta consistencia interna, una confiabilidad intercodificadores muy significativa y una validez de contenido significativa. También mostró que, con el entrenamiento adecuado, el ecan permite una evaluación de los relatos sin sesgos y errores, lo que implica que su uso es confiable y necesario para indagar sobre la calidad del discurso narrativo en contextos diversos.
El propósito de este estudio fue caracterizar las estrategias regulatorias empleadas por madres en la interacción con sus bebés durante el primer año de vida en las situaciones de estrés que ocurrían en el contexto natural (hogar) de cuidado diario. Así mismo, determinar si el canto materno cumplía una función regulatoria de los estados fisiológicos y emocionales del bebé. Se utilizó un diseño de investigación no experimental de tipo transversal, con una muestra no probabilística por conveniencia de 32 díadas madre-bebé, que pertenecían a estratos socioeconómicos bajos. Los hallazgos de este estudio permitieron establecer dos patrones de cuidado materno: Patrón Regulatorio Contingente y Patrón Regulatorio Poco/No Contingente. También, se pudo identificar que el canto materno cumple, entre otras, una función regulatoria en situaciones de estrés en las rutinas de cuidado cotidiano.
Entre añoranzas, anhelos e incertidumbres surge de una experiencia de indagación narrativa y creativa, que se pregunta por las formas en las que los seres humanos le dan sentido a su existencia y generan aprendizajes profundos en su vida cotidiana. Este libro está compuesto por cinco relatos, que son producto de una serie de conversaciones sobre las vivencias de algunos adultos mayores, que, siendo niños, poblaron parte de los cerros orientales de la ciudad de Bogotá y participaron en la creación y fundación del barrio Juan XXIII, en la localidad de Chapinero. Los relatos de estas personas, que se conectan entre sí, son narraciones espontáneas que se articulan en tres ejes: sus añoranzas por un pasado en el que ellos eran felices, a pesar de las limitaciones económicas y las adversidades; sus anhelos frente a la conciencia de sus pérdidas y vulnerabilidades actuales; y sus incertidumbres ante su futuro, el de sus hijos y sus nietos, quienes fluctúan entre la esperanza y la desesperación. Sus historias personales revelan una parte de la realidad de todo un país marcado por la violencia, la pobreza y la desatención estatal, pero también por la fuerza, la perseverancia y el valor de personas que han construido un espacio comunitario propio.
