The article deals with the causes, methods and functions of using E-learning in the process of training students English, as well as changing teacher's and learner's roles in the educational process. The introduction of information and communication technologies in educational and research processes is a compulsory requirement to implement the concept of modernization in Russian education. Recently, interest in English as a means of international communication has increased significantly, it has already been recognized as the language of professional communication in various fields of activity. The relevance of this work is undoubted. Modern higher school teachers are constantly looking for more effective approaches in training English and in the process of creating an electronic educational environment that would allow students access to various sources of information and help satisfy the interests of the modern student. The goal of the research is to increase the efficiency of training English in the system of higher professional education through the development and use of educational software products that apply modern information technology. Methods to achieve this goal include the method of using computer technology, methods of network planning and project management. The research showed that the organization of the information-instrumental educational environment uses a student centered approach, the development of an electronic educational and methodological complex (EEMC) is a search for an algorithm, most adapted to the student's cognitive needs, and EEMC in English creates the best conditions for the principle of interactivity. The practical significance of the study is determined by the fact that its materials related to the method of creating multimedia tasks and virtual environments can be used in the practical work of universities, as well as in the system of further training for specialists.
The article attempts to define the application of student-centered approach in foreign language teaching at the Department of Foreign Languages in Engineering (Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University). The relevance of the research lies in the fact that it deals with a key issue of interest for teachers and educators as well as for teaching and learning process in general – the education of an active, creative, successful person, capable of self-development and self-improvement. Nowadays the theory of student-centered learning is rather rule than the exception in many educational institutions around the world. Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University follows modern educational trends. However, there are some difficulties in full realization of student-centered approach basic principles. The purpose of the research which included the survey of teachers and students on the conception of student-centered learning, was to identify and unleash the potential of a student-centered approach in foreign language learning at a university. The authors concluded that respondents are not fully aware of this approach. The results of self-reflection observations are manifested in the form of various limitations. These limitations are associated with students and teachers. The most important limitations are connected with the lack of motivation for students to study. The practical significance of the research is that its findings can be taken into account when eliminating difficulties in introducing student-centered approach in teaching foreign languages and other disciplines at a university.
Currently, training of professional engineers able to be competitive with foreign counterparts in the international labor market is one of the most important problems of Russian technical universities. To achieve this goal, graduates of engineering universities are required to speak a foreign language at the appropriate level to follow the latest advances in science and technology and become professional and competent experts in their field. Teaching a foreign language in the current context is an important task in the complex of humanitarian training in a technical university, as future specialists, speaking a foreign language, keep themselves open to their professional activities. UNESCO experts and governments of different countries come to the conclusion that good results can be achieved if universities use e-learning foreign language management systems. It is a brand-new technology of education for life in the information society, orienting a student to a new work style, developing skills and abilities for continuing education. The e-learning(EL) technology completely changes a person's attitude to education, provides an opportunity to learn anywhere, anytime, and throughout life, even without leaving home and not crossing borders. In recent decades the problem of building successful EL-strategies for learning a foreign language has become extremely relevant and widely discussed throughout the world. Innovative foreign language courses are being developed and implemented using EL technologies in many technical universities. Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University (the RF) is not an exception. E-learning has long been actively implemented in the educational process of the university. On the basis of the Moodle virtual educational environment, an educational portal was created. The portal contains a catalog of courses on the main subjects taught in the university. The goal of this article is to consider the implementation of e-learning technologies in the following fields: Foreign Language, Foreign Language in Professional Activities, Business Foreign Language, Professionally-Oriented Translation, the use of synchronous and asynchronous communication tools for optimal organization of educational activities.
“Love is the eminence grise of history”, – once one of the greats of the past said. Few doubt that history is driven by human, more or less conscious interests – economic, political, religious, etc. As for feelings, passions and instincts, their role in the historical process is not so obvious, particularly of those that are connected with policy or economy indirectly. The objective necessity to rehabilitate the position of Eros in the political life of 18th-century Russia determines the significance of the current research. The article aims to analyse how the feeling of love and/or the underpinning instincts of procreation and self-preservation affect the political life and the course of history. The most important task is to examine some of the poetic texts of the 18th – early 19th centuries, the authors of which are the part of this still non-trivial historiosophical paradigm. So, it is mainly going to be about love, but not always – about love poems. The novelty of the conducted research lies in the fact that mythological and political issues of Anacreonic poetry have already become the matter of literary criticism [1, 2], while the hidden historiosophical senses have been still neglected. Certain creative works of the 18th-century poets: M.V. Lomonosov, G.R. Derzhavin, S.S. Bobrov served as research material. The practical significance of the investigation consists in the fact that the results can be used for further studying of 18th-century literature and historiosophical problems as well as to develop special courses in historical poetry.

The research is relevant in the linguistic, social, national and cognitive aspects, as it demonstrates an interaction between language and society. At the modern stage of the English anthroponymics progress, the researchers described social factors influencing name giving process.
