The aim is to study the level and dynamics of instructor officers’ somatic health during the course of employment at Ukrainian higher education institutions with special training conditions Materials and methods: The study involved male instructor officers of the National Academy of Internal Affairs (Kyiv, Ukraine) of different age groups (n=103), who conduct training sessions with cadets – future police officers. The first age group (up to 25 years of age) comprised 8 instructors, the second one (26-30 years of age) – 11 instructors, the third one (31-35 years of age) – 14 instructors, the fourth one (36-40 years of age) – 16 instructors, the fifth one (41-45 years of age) – 19 instructors, the sixth one(46-50 years of age) – 17 instructors, and the seventh one (over 50 years of age) – 18 instructors. The study was conducted in 2017-2019. The level of instructor officers’ health was examined according to the methodology of G. L. Apanasenko, which provides for the calculation of body mass, vital, strength, and Robinson indices, as well as the duration of recovery of heart rate after standard exercise. The research methods: theoretical analysis and generalization of literature sources, pedagogical testing and observation, methods of mathematical statistics. Results: Insufficient level of health was revealed among instructor officers of all age groups – the level of somatic health of the vast majority of instructional staff (over 75 %) is assessed as “low” and “below average”, more than 95 % of instructors are below the “safe zone” according to the methodology of G. L. Apanasenko. Conclusions: The research shows that the current system of physical training of higher education institutions with special training conditions is ineffective and needs to be refined in order to strengthen the health of instructor officers, increase their efficiency and, in general, improve the effectiveness of training future police officers at higher education institutions.
The specifics of police activities have a number of features that lead to negative emotional states, disorders of mental processes and necessitates the development of future police cadets professionally important psychological qualities. The article is devoted to the study of indicators of psychological qualities and emotional state of cadets of higher education institutions with specific training conditions – future police officers who were engaged in sambo wrestling during studying. The study was conducted at the National Academy of Internal Affairs in 2017-2020. The study involved cadets (male) of the 1st-4th years of study (18-22 years old, n=152). Two groups were formed: experimental group (EG) – cadets who during studying were engaged in the sambo wrestling section of the academy (n=32); control group (CG) – cadets who studied according to the current program of the physical training and did not attend additionally the sports sections of the academy (n=120). The professionally important psychological qualities of cadets-future police officers include: the ability to simultaneously perceive several objects (volume of attention), perform several actions (distribution of attention), focus on one object (concentration of attention), the ability to maintain the required intensity of attention for a long time (stability of attention). Research methods: analysis and generalization of literature sources, pedagogical testing, pedagogical observation, pedagogical experiment, methods of mathematical statistics. The positive influence of sambo wrestling classes on the level of psychological qualities and emotional state of cadets was revealed. Indicators of situational anxiety and emotional states of EG cadets in the 4th year of study were significantly better than those of CG cadets, which will provide cadets with high performance, and in the future – the effective implementation of professional tasks.
The article examines the influence of special physical training classes on the formation of physical readiness of cadets for future professional activities in the process of training at technical higher military educational institution. Cadets of the 1st-3rd years of study (n = 43) of the S. P. Koroliov Zhytomyr Military Institute took part in the study. Two groups were formed: experimental (EG, n=21), the cadets of which were engaged in the "CrossFit" classes, and control (CG, n = 22), the cadets of which were engaged according to the current system of physical training. Research methods: theoretical analysis and generalization of literature sources, pedagogical observation, pedagogical testing, methods of mathematical statistics. One of the means of physical training that can help solve the outlined problem is the means of special physical training "CrossFit". The essence of the "CrossFit" is to perform simple and affordable physical exercises for the development of physical qualities and different muscle groups by high-intensity circuit training (without rest between exercises or with short breaks for rest). It was found that the level of development of physical qualities among cadets who were engaged in the "CrossFit" classes at the end of the study was significantly higher than among those who were engaged in the current system of physical training during sports-mass work. The most pronounced influence of "CrossFit" classes was revealed on the development of the functional capacities of EG cadets (3 km running) and their strength qualities (pulling up on the crossbar).
The article examines the level and dynamics of indicators of the physical state of cadets who engaged in sambo wrestling during their studies at higher education institutions with specific training conditions. 60 cadets (male) of the National Academy of Internal Affairs, aged 19-22, who were studying in senior courses (III and IV years) took part in the research. The cadets who additionally practiced in the sambo wrestling classes were included in the experimental group (EG, n=25), and their peers who did not attend additional sports classes - in the control group (CG, n=35). The study of the physical state was carried out according to indicators of physical development (height, body weight, vital capacity, hand dynamometry) and functional capabilities of the cadets' body (pulse rate, blood pressure, duration of pulse recovery after standard exercise). Research methods: theoretical analysis and generalization of scientific and methodical literature, pedagogical observation, testing, experiment, methods of mathematical statistics. It has been established that results of EG cadets were significantly better than CG cadets for all studied indicators. At the end of the experiment, the EG cadets had significantly better than those of CG, indicators of body weight - for 2.2 kg, hand dynamometry - for 3.1 kg, pulse rate - for 0.7 bpm, pulse recovery time - for 4,5 s. This testifies to the effectiveness of additional classes in sambo wrestling, not only for the formation of professional skills and abilities in the application of police coercive measures, but also for improving the physical state of future law enforcement officers.
