Storage of table eggs in refrigeration is a popular habit but it may be lead to different degree of contamination with pathogens and increase the risks of illness in humans. A total of 75 chicken table eggs (grades II) were collected from 5 farms (15 of each) in Alexandria province and which were stored in refrigerator at 5 °C. The collected eggs were divided into three groups (25 of each): 1 st group at zero time of storage (at laying day), 2 nd group after one week of storage and 3 rd group after two weeks of storage. They were analyzed for bacterial and fungal contamination on their shells and internal contents. The results of the current study indicated that the egg shells had the highest while the internal contents had the lowest load of both bacterial and fungal contamination. Key words:MRSA, sheep, goat, pneumointeritis Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a type of bacteria that is resistant to certain antibiotics including methicillin, oxacillin, penicillin and amoxicillin. Our study investigated the occurrence of Staphylococcus aureus in a total of 95 and 86 sheep and goat, respectively from different healthy conditions (apparently healthy, pneumonia, enteritis and pneumoenteritis) using routine bacteriological identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing. The results showed that S. aureus in sheep was detected in 25, 31.25, 43.3 and 20 %, in apparently healthy, pneumonia, enteritis and pneumoenteritis cases, respectively from nasal swabs and 12.5,20.8, 16.6 and 17.5 %, respectively from fecal swabs. While in goats, S. aureus was detected in 25, 26, 15.3, 14.2 % in apparently healthy, pneumonia, enteritis and pneumoenteritis cases, respectively from nasal swabs and 12.5, 8.3, 11.5, 14.2 %, respectively from fecal swabs. Further, the isolates were studied for their antimicrobial susceptibility patterns using 9 antibiotics commonly used. S. aureus isolated from nasal or fecal swabs of healthy sheep and goat were 100% resistant to Ampicillin, Amoxycillin and Penicillin, while S. aureus isolated from nasal and fecal swabs of sheep with pneumointeritis were 50 % resistant to Methicillin and Oxacillin. All S. aureus isolates were 100 % sensitive to Ciprofloxacin and Gentamycin making them the drugs of choice for the treatment of different disease conditions caused by S. aureus in sheep and goat.

A total number of 50 samples were collected from clinically diseased farm animals including diarrhoea in calves, mastitis in cows, respiratory affections in sheep and abscess formation in sheep and goats at different localities in Alexandria Governorate to detect the prevelance of Pseudomonas species. Pseudomonas aeruginosa was isolated from these samples at a rate of 20 %, where the isolation from 10 samples of diarrhoeic calves, 12 mastitic milk of cows, 10 nasal swabs of sheep, 10 samples of pneumonic lung of sheep and 8 wounds and abscess swabs of sheep and goats were at: 10, 8.3, 20, 40, 25 % respectively. Moreover, 8 strains out of these positive strains gave positive hemolysin activity (B-Hemolysis) onto blood agar plates while experimental infection with isolated Pseudomonas aeruginosa revealed death of all embryos inoculated via yolk sac route. In-vitro antimicrobial sensitivity results revealed that the isolated Pseudomonas aeruginosa were sensitive to Ofloxacine, Ciprofloxacin, Gentamycin but resistant to Nitrofuratoin, Amoxicillin, Cefotaxime, Amoxicillin calvulanic acid, Erythromycin, Trimethoprim. The antimicrobial activities of four different plant extracts (Ginger, Thyme, black seed, Cinnamon) which had antibacterial effects to some species of microorganisms were studied to the multi-drug resistant isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in this research but they recorded no inhibition zones.

A survey on Salmonella infection was carried out on 5o broiler chicken farms located at Alexandria Governorate. A total of 5 Salmonella isolates were isolated and serotyped using different selective enriched media for isolation and a variety of biochemical and serological tests for identification. The in-vetro sensitivity test revealed that Neomycin and Ceftiofur gave the heighest activity against Salmonella isolates. On the other hand, Salmonella typhimurium isolates showed resistance against Erythromycin, Amoxycillin and Ampicillin. Moreover, Salmonella isolates were tested for their virulence using Congo red binding test and ability to produce hemolysin.

This research was carried on 80 quarter out of 600 quarter milk samples collected aseptically from 150 apparently healthy cows in 4 private farms at Alexandria Governorate (Abees-Ameria-Borg-El-Arab and Mariout) and prove the affection of subclinical mastitis by use California mastitis test. The total incidence of subclinical mastitis in Alexandria Governorate was 13.33% .While the incidence in 4 farms (Abees-Ameria-Borg-El-Arab and Mariout) were (14.3 %, 13.9% , 12.5%, and 10%) respectively. The number of the bacterial isolates in these investigation was 92 isolates, while the number and frequency percentages of the isolates were Staphylococcus aureus 23
