We present the results of the experimental study of laser-induced absorption (LIA) in KTiOPO4 crystal (KTP) under the action of laser radiation of wavelengths 0.37-0.44, 0.53, and 0.68-0.88 /m. Nw data are obtamed on the nature of the colour centers in KTP. The relationship is established between the LIA effect and laser damage threshold of the crystals. The influence is outlined of the LIA effect on the process of frequency doubling in KTP crystal.
Two types of YSGG:Cr, Nd-lasers were investigated. The use of an opto-mechanical modulator in one of them and of a polarization-closed cavity in the other made it possible to achieve the efficiency of 3-4% with the output energy up to 460 mJ and the pulse repetition rate-up to 50 Hz. Laser efficiency at the second harmonic wavelength was 1.5-2%,the frequency being converted in the KTP-crystal. The prospects of further growth of the output parameters were analyzed for such lasers.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
