A reverse‐phase high pressure liquid chromatographic determination of 11 hydroxycoumarins in plant extracts is described, which is applicable to the quantitative analysis of these compounds for industrial purposes. Fraxinus ornus bark from various regions in Bulgaria showed differences both in the total coumarin content and in the relative proportions of each component. The occurrence of 7‐methylesculin and 6,7,8‐trihydroxycoumarin in the family Oleaceae is reported for the first time.
