Turtles have a unique behavior, namely laying eggs on the same beach where they hatched. Turtles as protected animals continue to experience a decline in population caused by various factors including the degradation of nesting habitats. This study aims to determine the condition of the Cemara Beach habitat as a turtle nesting habitat. The research was conducted during September-November 2020 with a survey method by measuring the parameters of the Cemara Beach habitat which include sand temperature, air temperature, air humidity, beach width, beach slope, vegetation types and predators. The data collected was then analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The average air temperature is 28.07oC, the average sand temperature at a depth of 50 cm is 29.95oC, the average air humidity is 71.53%, the average beach width is 40 m and the average beach slope is 11.80 which shows the sloping beach category. The types of vegetation that grow along the coast are ketapang (Terminalia catappa), sea pine (Casuarina equisetifolia), horse tread (Ipomoea pes-caprae), cikumpai cikarao (Lepturus repens). As for the presence of predators identified during the observation, namely ghost crabs (Ocypode cursor).
When Covid-19 began to enter Indonesia, the entire school process was immediately switched to an online method. Various efforts have been made by parents to deal with online schools, which unwittingly affect their mental condition, which so far has never accompanied children to learn from home. Therefore, the Indonesian government continues to strive to improve the quality of education during the pandemic. This study aimed to determine parents' perceptions of offline schools during the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used was descriptive with a questionnaire given to 67 mothers. The results were that most mothers (88.1%) felt that online learning reduced children's learning capacity. Most mothers (25.7%) complained that the absorption of material was less effective and maximal, 65.7% of mothers felt that offline learning should be implemented immediately because direct interaction with teachers was considered more comprehensive and effective, and 70.1% of mothers allowed their children to study offline during the pandemic with strict health protocols. Almost all respondents (97%) stated that offline schools can develop children potentially better than online schools. Most mothers (70.1%) felt that their children can maintain health protocols while at school if they are allowed to go to school offline.
Physical inactivity and obesity are some of the main risk factors for diabetes mellitus (DM). The presence of DM might result in impaired quality of life (QoL). Our study aimed to firstly determine the association between diabetes exercise status and the QoL in type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) patients and secondly to explore other factors associated with QoL among T2DM patients. This was an observational study with cross-sectional design of T2DM patients in dr. Trimurti primary health care (PHC) from January – December 2019. The subjects were recruited consecutively then categorized into treatment group (who performed diabetes exercise program) and control group (who did not perform diabetes exercise program). then observed as in the exercise group (who performed diabetes exercise program) and in the non-exercise group (who did not perform diabetes exercise program). The dependent variable was the QoL and was collected through a modified questionnaire made from 30 questions. The maximum score for QoL was 120 (all 4 on the Likert scale) and the score results were categorized as poor if the score was 96.5 and good if the score was 96.5. Meanwhile, other data (comorbidities, exercise status, glycaemic status) were obtained through medical records. A total of 60 adult T2DM patients were recruited, consisting of 30 subjects each in the non-exercise and exercise groups. Male subjects, aged 65 years, had bachelor's degrees, retired, married, had very high income, had no comorbidities, and exercised independently every week tended to have good QoL. In the exercise group, the majority of subjects (60%) performed diabetes exercise every two weeks and the majority (90%) had random blood glucose levels 200 mg/dL. The chi-square test revealed a significant associaton between participation in diabetes exercise and QoL in T2DM subjects. Participation in diabetes exercise is associated with good QoL and better glycemic control in T2DM patients.
In his writings full of social criticism, Eka Kurniawan shrewdly writes to destroy the order of fairness in social reality that makes human values abstract. He not only assesses the reality that has a high urgency to be raised through writing but also uses attractive packaging with satire for the story. Tak Ada yang Gila di Kota Ini is one of Kurniawan's short stories written based on his own experience of seeing human oppression caused by the sanity privilege. A sociological approach reveals that sanity in Tak Ada yang Gila di Kota Ini becomes a privilege because mentally ill people are oppressed and even exploited by sane people. The sanity privilege creates social stratification and separates; the upper class is filled with sane people and has power. The middle class is filled with sane people and has power because it dominates; meanwhile, the lower class is filled with mentally ill people.
"Jimat Sero" is one of Eka Kurniawan's short stories in the collection of short stories Cinta Tak Ada Mati in 2018. This paper will use deconstruction to examine the ideology of the text and describe the results of its dissemination in the text. This paper uses Jacques Derrida's deconstruction theory. The method used is content analysis with double reading. The results contain two main points; First, the ideology of the text from the identification of metaphysical hierarchies, binary oppositions, and undecidable elements in the text. Second, dissemination of the results of the deconstruction process. The result of the text's ideology is the curious days experienced by Aku after being given an amulet by Rohman. The results of the dissemination in the text are; 1) Aku reflects the generality of society towards mystical things, 2) Rohman's character is an abortion of village people who consider the city as the primary goal of success.
