This research was conducted to improve students’ activeness at structure class by sharing their idea, comment, questions and structure mastery. This research applied slido.com application as the media to teach. It was a classroom action research which had been conducted in two cycles. The subjects of this research were the third semester students of English Education Department of IAIN Salatiga. The writer took one of 3 classes as the sample of the research randomly. The researcher observed the improvement of students’ activeness at structure class by collecting the data through observation and measurement technique. The data were in the form of observation checklist and field notes, documentation, and students’ task. The data which were collected were analyzed to know the description of the class activity and the learning progress. After the cycles conducted, it resulted that there ware improvement in students’ activeness in delivering questions, giving comments, and doing simple task. The description of result was also proven with the students’ mean score improved from 51 in their pre-test into 67 in the second cycle. It can be drawn a conclusion that there is an improvement in students’ activeness in the structure class taught using slido application.
This research was aimed to know how far the students’ understanding of digital literacy, to know how high the students’ writing originality, and to know the correlation between students’ understanding of digital literacy and students’ writing originality. Digital literacy is someone’s capability to use the digital device, receive, communicate process, evaluate, and share the information cognitively and technically. Originality is emphasized in writing because it is used as the measurement of the writers’ idea and creativity in writing. This research used correlational study to check the correlation between variable. The population of this research was the 2015th generation of English Education Department Students of IAIN Salatiga. It used cluster random sampling to decide the sample of this research. Class A was used as the sample of the research that consisted of 32 students. The data that was collected was analyzed using SPSS 20. Based on the data analysis, it resulted that r(count) 0.83 > r (table) 0.349. From the result, it can be concluded that there was positive perfect correlation between digital literacy understandings with student’s writing originality
<p>Umbi bawang dayak (<em>Eleutherine palmifolia (L.)</em> Merr.) memiliki kandungan fenol dan flavonoid yang berkhasiat sebagai antioksidan. Kandungan kimia dalam suatu tumbuhan dapat dipengaruhi dengan adanya proses pengolahan bahan baku. Salahsatu proses pengolahan baku tumbuhan yaitu dengan adanya fermentasi menggunakan pemanasan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh fermentasi pada kandungan kimia dan aktivitas antioksidan pada ekstrak umbi bawang dayak. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan fermentasi umbi bawang dayak dengan pemanasan selama 10, 20 dan 30 hari. Ekstraksi dilakukan menggunakan maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 70%. Penetapan kadar fenol total, flavonoid total dan aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, ekstrak umbi bawang dayak hasil fermentasi selama 30 hari memiliki kadar fenol total, kadar flavonoid total dan aktivitas antioksidan tertinggi, ditunjukkan secara berurutan (3,721 g GAE/100 g ekstrak ± 0,210; 0,378 g QE/100 g ekstrak ± 0,189, IC<sub>50</sub> peredaman DPPH 28,689 µg/mL± 0,144). Adanya proses fermentasi dan lama proses fermentasi dapat mempengaruhi kandungan kimia dan aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak umbi bawang dayak.</p>
This research aims to investigate writing activities using the WhatsApp group during the study from home amid the COVID-19 pandemic and students’ perceptions about it. It is a qualitative research, in which the data were analyzed descriptively. This research was carried out at the Sentence-Based Writing class at IAIN Salatiga, Indonesia, in April - June 2020. This research participant involved 30 students. The researchers utilized a questionnaire and documentation for data collection. After conducting the research, the results revealed various students’ perceptions. 63% of the total students possessed a positive perception toward the writing activities using the WhatsApp group, and the rest 37% of students’ preferred face-to-face meetings and perceived writing using WhatsApp group as boring, confusing, and distracting. After analyzing the WhatsApp group activities, at least five writing activities were conducted: sharing and explaining materials, discussing materials, composing sentences, editing sentences, and posting writing products. Thus, this research can definitely provide teachers with knowledge regarding students' perceptions and writing activities carried out in the WhatsApp group.
<p>This theoretical concept is aimed to investigate how positive discipline is implemented in foreign language classroom and improve students’ self-esteem. As one of forms of classroom management, positive discipline expects long-term discipline planted in the learners’ behavior. There are five principles of positive discipline which can be implemented in language learning; Identifying long-term goals; Providing warmth and structure; Understanding child development; Identifying individual differences; Problem-solving and responding with positive discipline. The implementation of positive discipline which support classroom encouragement and confidence could improve learner’s self-esteem. By implementing the positive discipline, teacher also takes advantages on understanding more about his students’ character. In addition, learner would realize their long-term goal of learning foreign language which motivates them to be more active in the class.</p>

The research is the result of qualitative research that aimed answering the question of how Ibn Taimiyah thought about market mechanism and price regulation, how Ibn Khaldun thought about market mechanism and price regulation, and how the comparative analysis of Ibn Taimiyah and Ibn Khaldun's thought about market mechanism and price regulation. The research approach used a comparative descriptive or comparison approach, the data collection is done by reviewing the books.of figures Islamic economic thinkers. The results of the research of Ibn Taimiyah and Ibn Khaldun's thought about market mechanisms and price regulation, Ibn Taimiyah and Ibn Khaldun opinion that the ups and downs of prices in the market are determined by the level of demand and offer by a goods and prohibit the interference of any party in determining the price during the market is normal, and in the minds of the two figures there are some differences and equation in explaining about market mechanism and price regulation. The present study aims to examine the effectiveness of Google Classroom-assisted blended learning in two EFL grammar classes. It investigates the difference between EFL students’ grammar mastery applying blended learning and discussion method. Framed in experimental research, this study recruited 52 EFL student teachers in an Indonesian university to participate. Data were garnered through multiple choice tests. Study findings reveal that the significance value of paired sample t-test was 0.00 < 0.05, showing that there was significant influence of blended learning toward the EFL students’ grammar mastery. The significance value of t-test (2.029) > t-table (0.2732) indicates that there was a difference in the students’ grammar mastery after giving treatment in experimental and control groups. The N-gain value was 0.1164 > 0.7, proving that Google Classroom-aided blended learning was effective to foster the students’ grammar mastery. Since the t-test (2.029) > t-table (0.2732), H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected. This means that Google Classroom-assisted blended learning gave a positive impact on the students’ grammar mastery. This study concludes with some empirical evidence that Google Classroom-mediated blended learning is promoted to be an innovative learning management system in EFL classes to boost students’ grammar mastery.
In learning English, students must be equipped with knowledge of good and correct pronunciation so that they can be a support for students in English pronunciation. One application that can be used to practice pronunciation by Artificial Intelligence is ELSA Speak. In ELSA Speak, students can learn the correct pronunciation generated from native speakers, and can practice their pronunciation and get digital feedback from ELSA Speak, and correct their pronunciation. Two main discussions were the implementation of digital feedback on Elsa Speak for students and the benefits of digital feedback on ELSA Speak in learning English. This research uses qualitative case studies, in which observation and semi-structured interviews were used as instruments in collecting the data. The result of the research shown that ELSA Speak can help students to learn how to pronounce some words, and this application can make the students be more confident when want to talk with English language.
