IntroducciónLa enseñanza de la arqueología en los úl-timos tiempos se caracteriza por su gradual apertura a temas, aspectos, contextos y tecnología que posibilitan una transformación y ampliación progresiva de aquello que había conformado tradicionalmente el ámbito de actuación de la disciplina (González, 2010). Uno de estos nuevos lugares de incidencia potencial es el mundo de la enseñanza de la historia y de la educación patrimonial con el uso de la tecnología, como medio de transmisión del conocimiento arqueológico.La tecnología que se ha usado en la divulgación de la arqueología va desde la multimedia pasando por la realidad virtual hasta la realidad aumentada. La realidad virtual y la realidad aumentada presentan algunas características comunes como, por ejemplo, la inclusión de modelos virtuales gráficos 2D y 3D (Basogain, Olabe, Espinosa, & Rouèche, 2007). Ambas exigen un trabajo detallado de los conceptos históricos educativos, de la funcionalidad y de los objetos involucrados en la representación de un determinado patrimonio cultural, monumento histórico o arqueológico.El desarrollo de aplicaciones de software con realidad virtual y aumentada pasa por un proceso de software, el que puede ser convencional o ágil (Pressman, 2009). El enfoque ágil intenta evitar los tediosos caminos de las metodologías tradicionales, enfocándose en las personas y los resultados. Se fundamenta en el valor para construir software, colaborando con el cliente e incorporando los cambios continuamente (Leiva & Villalobos, 2014).El objetivo de esta investigación fue describir el diseño de una aplicación de realidad aumentada para difundir el conocimiento de los dioses Moche y luego probar la misma en un grupo de estudiantes de Educación Primaria.
Teoría del dominio y trabajos previosLos trabajos desarrollados en el Perú con herramientas de tecnología de realidad aumentada como soporte educativo son escasos. Una de las primeras aplicaciones fue "Uso de la Realidad Aumentada en la Compresión del Proceso Histórico: Libro Conociendo el Museo Arqueológico de Ancash" (Cadillo, 2011), en donde se busca alcanzar el objetivo de generar el desarrollo de la competencia de comprensión del proceso histórico local y regional de los niños del cuarto grado de Educación Primaria, a través de una estrategia mixta de visita al Museo Regional de Áncash y la construcción de un libro de Realidad Aumentada.En la Universidad de San Martín de Porres se desarrolló un prototipo de videojuego con realidad aumentada orientado a disminuir el rechazo a las matemáticas en niños de cinco años de edad, llamada Math4Life (Caspa, Quispe, & Montalvo, 2011).Standford, empresa de venta de cuadernos y útiles, en el 2014, sacó a la venta en todo el territorio peruano cuadernos con marcadores para interactuar con realidad aumentada. Esta fue la aplicación de realidad aumentada relacionada a la educación que tuvo mayor difusión.
