A constant concern of academic institutions has been to improve the customer satisfaction in university libraries. The service quality within academic library context is pivotal for satisfying customers by meeting the customers' needs to create loyalty amongst customers. This research uses LibQual to analyze the gap between customer's perception and expectation, concerned with the services at the University Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) Library. There are six dimensions in service quality; namely general services, search for materials, library collection, staff, environment and environment, considered for this empirical research. The purpose of this paper is to 1) know service quality dimensions that satisfy the customers and 2) to observe the impact of service quality on customer satisfaction. The research methodology is carried out using a questionnaire survey distributed among 170 samples through simple random sampling. The data obtained was analyzed by using covariance-based structural equation modeling and importance-performance analysis. The results suggest that quality of service had a significant impact on customer satisfaction. Among the service quality dimensions, library environment and general service were viewed as high importance and strong performance index. Implication for research and practice resulting from these findings were also discussed.
The aim of this research is to understand the effect of product quality, medical price and staff skill on patient's loyalty through cultural impact in medical tourism. In this study, three exogenous constructs; namely product quality, medical price, and staff skill constructs were adopted to find their effects on patient's loyalty. Meanwhile, the cultural impact is also adopted as a mediator construct. This study uses confirmatory approach as Covariance based Structural Equation Modeling (CBSEM) for testing the research hypotheses. The study explores inbound medical tourists loyalty from 324 respondents sampled comprised from different countries using stratified sampling. In terms of the direct effect, the method reveals that medical price and staff skill had positive significant effects on cultural impact and patient loyalty. In terms of indirect effect, the cultural impact mediates the relationships between product quality, medical price, and staff skills on patient's loyalty.
Discriminant validity is recognized as the essential approach in structural equation modelling method to determine the construct uniqueness in a research model. Using this approach, the applied researchers can identify the distinction role on each construct applied in the study. To date, there are several available approaches has been introduced to perform the discriminant validity. In applied research, the Fornell & Larcker approach is known as the method of choice for discriminant validity. Thus, this study attempt to make a comparison Fornell & Larcker approach with HTMT using CBSEM and Consistent PLS. From here, the results revealed that HTMT based Consistent PLS approach is comparable to Fornell & Larcker based CBSEM but not empirical standard to Fornell & Larcker based Consistent PLS. The discussion and recommendations also provided for this justifications.
During the past three years, Malaysian Islamic banking Institutions' (IBIs) asset has shown an aggressive growth of 13%. Furthermore, Malaysia is currently focusing to become the world hub leader in Islamic banking. Hence, these two factors have increased the competitiveness among IBIs to find qualified talents in various fields to be attracted. Despite abundant new talents in the job market, the IBIs could not attract the qualified or right talent into their institutions. This paper attempts to identify an appropriate EVP for new Malaysian IBIs talents to attract qualified talents. To do so, a study is conducted with a structured interview of the questionnaire. The questionnaires were evaluated by a group of Malaysian graduates on the required EVP for IBIs. The results indicate that basic salary, employee benefit package and flexible working hours play an important role for talent shortage.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
