To improve student performance on the subjects studied, the fields of education and technology cannot be separated. Although technology has been used in Third Language Subject Education for a long time, student performance has been seen to decline from 2020 to 2021. In fact, the use of augmented reality (AR) multimedia technology continues to remain uncommon, particularly in third-language subjects at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). Due to the paucity of studies on the impact of using AR technology in the third language on student performance, this needs to be investigated. The use of AR in education and training can speed up instruction, be lightweight and portable, have clear content, and cost less to print. The purpose of this research is to determine how the use of AR-oriented multimedia technology affects student performance in third-language learning methods and lecturer roles. Data from questionnaires is collected using quantitative methods. SmartPLS 3.0 was used to analyse the data. A total of 387 UiTM students who took a third language course participated in the study. The analysis revealed that the use of multimedia had a significant impact on student performance, with the exception of the teaching strategy factor, which had no effect on student performance. Future proposals to broaden AR research into other areas of social science.
For decades, the Malaysian national history is in a stable condition and not being challenged by anyone. The enhancement of national history is constantly progress through educational system starting from primary school to university level. The consciousness of national history is the foundation for the unity of the people and country development. Though, from time to time, the status quo starts to face the challenges and disputes which began with small scale and got bigger. This could trigger a national issue. Thus, this study focus on the date of Independence Day amongst Sarawak citizens. As one of the states that form the Federation of Malaysia in 1963, the history of Sarawak as a separate nation with the history of Malaysia has been detected. The consciousness of Merdeka Day for Sarawakian is more to refer to the establishment of the federation rather than the date of August 31, 1957 as the day of independent. To add, this research is to identify the level of consciousness in revising the national history amongst Sarawakian. This study also delves the understanding of "Merdeka" from Sarawakians' point of view and discuss whether the nation history is proportionate for the Sarawakian. For the methodology, this study applies quantitative and qualitative approaches, a concurrent triangulation mixed method design. The phases of data collection are two including surveys and focus group discussions. Generally, the result shows that the Sarawakian have a new consciousness of the national history.
National narratives are about the collective past as well as the future. It assumes the construction of a national identity and represents the central actors and peripheral actors orienting themselves towards the national story. However, the collective experience as part of constructing nation's history is occasionally challenged and subjugated by ethnicities, class, regions, and histories. Such forces are working on returning and reinterpreting the past. This paper presents the results of a focus group study exploring how the Sarawakian construct the history of Malaysia from a different point of view. Two focus groups (n=25) were conducted at Kuching and Miri, Sarawak. The results revealed that the most common constructs include violations of historical facts with regards to the representation of Malaysia's history. This sense of a 'Negara' Sarawak mapped out the constructivist notions of Orientalism by Edward Said in support of knowledge of the other global and regional developments over the last two decades. This configures upon the fabric of consciousness in the emergence of 'other' discourses in the history of Malaysia
