O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar o comportamento térmico de uma cobertura ajardinada com a grama Braquiária (Brachiaria humidicola), que atinge 1m de altura, comparando-a com a de uma cobertura tradicional (laje exposta). Considerando-se os dados obtidos por meio de monitoramentos com aparelhos registradores de temperaturas e umidades relativas, em diferentes épocas do ano, analisou-se o comportamento térmico das coberturas tradicional e verde. Foram medidas as temperaturas do ar no interior e no exterior das células-teste e as superficiais internas de ambas as células. Os resultados indicam que, submetida ao clima local, a cobertura ajardinada apresenta ótimo desempenho, particularmente por amortecer as temperaturas das superfícies externas e internas da cobertura. Nessa mesma célula-teste realizou-se recentemente uma pesquisa similar, mas que utilizou a grama Esmeralda (Zoysia japonica), uma vegetação rasteira. Comparando-se os resultados dos monitoramentos realizados, nos períodos de frio e calor, foram detectadas diferenças entre os comportamentos térmicos das duas gramas.
Uma das alternativas existentes para promover a ventilação natural dos edifícios é a utilização de torres de vento situadas acima do nível da cobertura, as quais podem funcionar como captadores ou extratores de ar. Esse artigo tem como objetivo analisar dois tipos de torres de vento, atuando como captadores: a octodirecional e a dodecadirecional, com oito e doze aberturas respectivamente, variando o número de suas divisórias, por meio de simulações no software CFX ® , as quais permitiram estudar as características técnicas dessas torres e seus efeitos sobre a ventilação interna do ambiente. Trata-se de uma pesquisa desenvolvida no doutorado, acrescida com outras simulações para verificação. Classifica-se, quanto aos objetivos, como um estudo exploratório. A metodologia foi dividida nas seguintes etapas: construção da geometria, na qual as torres octo e dodecadirecional foram projetadas com oito e doze divisórias, respectivamente, e, ambas com quatro divisórias; definição das parts; determinação da malha; condições de contorno e controle de solução no CFX Pre ® ; processamento das simulações no CFX Solver ® ; visualizações dos resultados no CFX Post ® : velocidade e coeficiente de pressão. Os resultados obtidos por uma série de simulações computacionais permitiram a análise e comparação dos projetos propostos, auxiliando na determinação das configurações mais adequadas, concluindo que as torres octodirecional e dodecadirecional com quatro divisórias são as mais eficientes, pois proporcionam maiores valores de velocidade do ar interno na maioria das posições consideradas. Desta forma, utilizando o software CFX ® , as análises possibilitaram desenvolver melhorias para os ambientes avaliados, no que se refere ao desempenho da ventilação, que proporcionará melhores taxas de conforto aos usuários da edificação, permitindo verificar as aberturas mais adequadas para captação e distribuição do vento no interior dos ambientes.
A utilização de torres de vento situadas acima do nível da cobertura, funcionando como captadores, pode ser uma solução viável para potencializar a ventilação natural, principalmente em salas de aula onde a disposição das salas com um corredor central só permite que sejam instaladas janelas em uma das paredes. O objetivo deste trabalho é propor a construção de uma torre octogonal em uma sala de aula universitária, a fim de promover um maior conforto térmico no interior do ambiente através da ventilação cruzada, e analisá-la por meio de simulações no software CFX®, as quais permitem estudar os seus efeitos sobre a ventilação interna da edificação. Como metodologia, foram aplicadas as seguintes etapas: construção da geometria, parts, malha; contorno no CFX Pre®; processamento no CFX Solver®; resultados no CFX Post®: velocidade e coeficiente de pressão. Os resultados obtidos permitiram concluir que a colocação de um captador de vento é eficiente, pois proporciona maiores valores de velocidade do ar interno na maioria das posições consideradas. Na análise de velocidade do ar e coeficientes de pressão positivos foi observado que um captador de vento nesse ambiente, embora apresente limitações em função da incidência de ventos no ambiente urbano, poderá favorecer condições adequadas de ventilação no interior da edificação em estudo.
