The green synthesis methods for the nanoparticles are economically feasible. It does not require any adverse effect causing agents such as usage of temperatures, toxic chemicals, energy, high pressure in the scientific and medical applications. Oral pathogens such as Streptococcus mutans and Lactobacillus sp is the major causes for many oral diseases. The different types of antibiotics are used for the controlling of many oral diseases. In this tudy we enhance the activity of nanoparticles by adding antibiotics to control the oral pathogen growth in invitro. The silver nanoparticles are prepared from Symplocos racemosa plant extract. To study and compare about the enhanced antibacterial activity of silver nanoparticles synthesised using Symplocoa racemosa. The plant extract was prepared by using double distilled water. The microorganisms such as Streptococcus mutans, and Lactobacillus sp were chosen and cultured in respective culture media. The silver nanoparticles synthesised is introduced into cultured petri plates to observe the changes. The zone of inhibition of the growth of microorganisms was studied. The effect of the prepared silver nanoparticles is compared using effect with the normal antibiotics. As a result, it is evident that there is an increase in zone of inhibition comparing the normal antibiotic effect. Thus it can used as drug of the choice in future.
The traditional herbal medicines are mainly obtained from plants are used in the management of Diabetes mellitus. The main objective of this work was to assess the presence of phytochemical compounds and to evaluate the in vitro antidiabetic activity of isopropanolic extracts of Pimenta racemosa leaves by studying their α-amylase inhibitory activity and glucose transport across yeast cells. Screening of phytochemicals showed positive results for alkaloids, steroids, cardiac glycosides, terpenoids, reducing sugars, anthraquinones, and results of in vitro α-amylase inhibitory studies demonstrated there was a dose-dependent increase in percentage inhibitory activity by the isopropanolic leaf extracts of Pimenta racemosa. At a concentration of 1 mg/ml, the extract showed a percentage inhibition 33.6 and for 5 mg/ml it was 91.2. The glucose uptake study was also studied through yeast cells by analyzing theamount of glucose remaining in the medium after a specific time intervals. It serves as an indicator for the capability of isopropanolic leaf extracts of Pimenta racemosa to transport the glucose into yeast cells. As a result, we found that the isopropanolic leaf extract of Pimenta racemosa have inhibitory activity against αamylase and also, which is efficient in glucose uptake. This therapeutic potentiality of Pimenta racemosa could be exploited in the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes mellitus. Further studies are also required to elucidate whether the plant have antidiabetic potential by in vivo for corroborating the traditional claim of the plant.
An allergic response is the hypersensitive immune response to a substance which is normally harmless or would not cause an immune response in everyone. An allergic response can cause several symptoms such as itching, inflammation and tissue injury. The manifestation of allergies is recognized in the form of urticaria, swelling, burning, pain, and dryness of the mucosa, stomatitis. radioallergosorbent test (RAST) which is the radioallergosorbent test used for the confirmation of allergic reaction in the body. This test specifically deals with the IgE antibodies which are responsible for the allergic reactions on the body. It is very essential to crosscheck the exact history related to allergy. Individual sensitivity and population sensitivity, both are equally responsible for skin allergy are the factors which are to be considered. Skin tests become negative under conditions of severe allergic reactions which is determined by graded therapy by freedom from contact and using epinephrine administration. RAST test is a two-stage procedure. RAST-test is performed according to the guidelines of European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility (EUCAST). The reliability of the test is high compared to other skin tests. Specificity based on two radioallergosorbent tests is high as 90% for inhaled allergens. It shows excellent reproducibility across a full measuring range with the help of the calibration curve. The RAST test is considered to be extremely sensitive. It shows high specificity which binds to allergen-specific IgE. This article mainly deals with the RAST procedure, advantages and disadvantages of the test.
Marine sources have received great attention recently; research on marine-derived molecules has discovered new bioactive compounds with vital properties increasing their applicability as nutraceuticals in the food and supplement industries. Most notably Hippocrates, the "father of modern medicine", is recorded as describing the therapeutic effects of various marine invertebrates and their constituents on human health. Astreias is an important marine of the family Asteriidae known for its variety of medicinal properties. Functional characterization of a protein sequence is one of the most frequent problems in biology. This task is usually facilitated by accurate three-dimensional (3-D) structure of the protein. The number of protein sequences that can be modeled, as well as the accuracy of the prediction, is increasing steadily because of the growth and number of known protein sequences and structures as well as improvements in the modeling software. It is currently possible to model, with useful accuracy. Significant parts of approximately one half of all known protein sequences. This research report deliver an innovative summary of bioinformatics study of Asterias rubens with emphasis on the current development and future directions, which shall provide tools and resources necessary to understand and uphold advances in this important field. The aim of the present study, 10 proteins of Asterias rubens were analysed using bioinformatics tools. Structural prediction and functional characterization of proteins of Asterias rubens were done using Expasy Protparm server, 3D structure was done using SWISS MODEL. The important enzymes present in Asterias rubens involved Reproductive function and proper growth and development of human body.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
