Background: Cardiovascular disease (CVD) prevalence has increased continuously over the last 30 years in China. Dyslipidemia is an important modifiable risk factor in CVD. We aimed to collect current data on the prevalence of dyslipidemia in northern China and explore potential influencing factors. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, we selected a representative sample of 65,128 participants aged ≥35 years in Inner Mongolia during 2015-2017. All participants completed a questionnaire and were examined for risk factors. Dyslipidemia was defined according to 2016 Chinese guidelines for adults. The associated factors for dyslipidemia were estimated by multivariate logistic regression analysis. Results: The age-standardized prevalence of dyslipidemia was 31.2% overall, with 4.3, 2.4, 14.7, and 17.4% for high total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), triglycerides (TG), and low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), respectively. The dyslipidemia prevalence was significantly higher in men than women (37.9% vs. 27.5%, P < 0.001), but postmenopausal women had a higher prevalence of dyslipidemia components (except low HDL-C). Compared with Han participants, Mongol participants had a lower prevalence of dyslipidemia (29.1% vs. 31.4%, P < 0.001). Male sex, living in urban areas, Han ethnicity, smoking, obesity, central obesity, hypertension, and diabetes were all positively correlated with dyslipidemia; alcohol consumption was linked to lower risk of dyslipidemia. Conclusions: Our study revealed that dyslipidemia is a health problem in northern China. Greater efforts to prevent and manage dyslipidemia, especially in men under age 55 years, postmenopausal women, and people with unhealthy lifestyles or chronic diseases.
PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to reveal the empirical issues of the implementation of coordination for textile‐apparel supply chains.Design/methodology/approachEmploying case study, the paper examines three different types of coordination practice in three different structures of textile‐apparel supply chains: vertical integration chain, efficiency oriented chain and 3P‐hub chain. The coordinators are three leading Hong Kong based international textiles and apparel companies in these cases. The case sources are published articles, company web sites and some open seminars offered by the case companies.FindingsIn textile and apparel industries, brand owners generally coordinate the supply chain. There are also other coordination practices in industries. Through the research observations and analyses in the cases it is found that the integrated company, powerful garment manufacturer and trade agent play the role of coordinators in vertical integration chain, efficiency oriented chain and 3P‐hub chain, respectively. No matter what type of coordination practice, information sharing and product flow coordination should be comprehensive. Coordinators are the information centers of the whole supply chain. They should have power to manage the supply chain. They should actively integrate the whole chain for maximum total profitability.Research limitations/implicationsThis paper is just an overview of coordination practice in textile‐apparel supply chains. The case sources are published articles, company web sites and some open seminars made by the case companies. The methodology should be more systematic.Originality/valueCoordination in textile‐apparel supply chains is still an unresolved question both from the theoretic and practical points of view. This paper fills in some of the gaps.
Brucellosis, a zoonosis which can seriously harm public health. Inner Mongolia is known as an endemic region of human brucellosis in China. The aim of this study is to present the epidemic of human brucellosis in Inner Mongolia from 2010 to 2014, and to provide the evidence of preventing from brucellosis in endemic areas. The study included 838,956 participants by cluster random sampling from 2010 to 2014. The contents of this study included questionnaire survey and serological testing. The seropositive rate was calculated based on the serological testing results, tested to determine whether the participants were infected by brucellosis. The new brucellosis cases were diagnosed using the questionnaire data and serological testing results then and the incidence rate was obtained. We also plotted spatial distribution maps based on the seropositive and incidence rate of human brucellosis. The total seropositive and incidence rate of human brucellosis among the high risk groups in Inner Mongolia from 2010 to 2014 was 35.91‰ and 18.25‰, respectively. The epidemic of the mid-eastern Inner Mongolia was decreased, however, the epidemic has worsened in western Inner Mongolia. Despite the epidemic of human brucellosis among the high risk groups of Inner Mongolia decreased significantly from 2010 to 2014, increased prevention and control measures are urgently needed.
A Monte Carlo simulation including surface excitation, Auger electron-and secondary electron production has been performed to calculate the energy spectrum of electrons emitted from silicon in Auger electron spectroscopy (AES), covering the full energy range from the elastic peak down to the true-secondary-electron peak. The work aims to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the experimental AES spectrum by integrating the up-to-date knowledge of electron scattering and electronic excitation near the solid surface region. The Monte Carlo simulation model of beam-sample interaction includes the atomic ionization and relaxation for Auger electron production with Casnati's ionization cross section, surface plasmon excitation and bulk plasmon excitation as well as other bulk electronic excitation for inelastic scattering of electrons (including primary electrons, Auger electrons and secondary electrons) through a dielectric functional approach, cascade secondary electron production in electron inelastic scattering events, and electron elastic scattering with use of Mott's cross section. The simulated energy spectrum for Si sample describes very well the experimental AES EN(E) spectrum measured with a cylindrical mirror analyzer for primary energies ranging from 500 eV to 3000 eV. Surface excitation is found to affect strongly the loss peak shape and the intensities of the elastic peak and Auger peak, and weakly the low energy backscattering background, but it has less effect to high energy backscattering background and the Auger electron peak shape.
