In recent years, one of the new areas of advertisement communication that has emerged with the digitalization of the advertisement sector is online behavioral advertisement practices. Especially in this type of advertisement, that is produced based on personal data, understanding the online consumer's level of knowledge, awareness, and perceptions is essential for advertisers, legal determinants, and consumers. Within this framework, the study aims to investigate online behavioral advertisement practices and to reveal consumer's level of knowledge, awareness, and perceptions regarding advertisement. In order to accomplish this aim, primarily, the nature of digital advertisement communication and how online behavioral ads are shaped in the context of digitalizing life as part of the transformation of advertisement with social changes and the theory of digimodernism are explained. In addition to this, the corresponding legal frameworks have been examined, and different aspects of online behavioral advertisement have been discussed. In the application section of the study, quantitative analysis was preferred primarily to determine the general situation and to reveal the thoughts of the online consumer about this advertisement. Afterward, qualitative analysis was preferred, and an integrated method was used in order to make comparisons between the specific inferences obtained from the general context, to explain the quantitative findings, and to understand the thoughts of the online consumer. Within the application of the integrated method, it is concluded that consumers have rudimentary knowledge of online behavioral advertisement for technical, legal and personal domains; however, they are aware of the fact that this advertisement is based on their preferences on the internet and they are exposed to these advertisements and exhibit purchasing behavior despite having various hesitations. In this context, it is seen that quantitative and qualitative findings support each other.
