A XVIII. századtól a XX. század közepéig Tokaj-Hegyalján élő zsidóság emlékei napjainkig megmaradtak. A temetők, a csodarabbi sírok, valamint a zsinagógák meghatározóak. Az 1970-es évektől kezdődően a térségbe érkező amerikai és izraeli vallási turisták újra élesztették a csodarabbi mítoszt. A statisztikák évente emelkedő számot mutattak, ami napjainkra átlagosan húszezer zsidó vallási turistaérkezést jelent évente a csodarabbik halálévfordulója alkalmából. A szervezők hatékony marketingmunkájának köszönhetően Tokaj-Hegyalja bekapcsolódott a nemzetközi zsidó vallási turizmusba.
