The present research aims at examining the influence of characteristics and political background of regional heads on financial performance of local governments in Indonesia. The population in the present research includes local governments in Indonesia. The samples are second level of local governments in Java. The total number of final samples is 112. Data comprise the APBD realization reports, data fromofficial websites of local governments, and data from official website of the Local Government Election Commission. Panel data regression was employed for data analysis. The results of the present studyindicate that educational background and level of education exert an influence on financial performance of local governments. Meanwhile, tenure, age, and political background do not have a significant influence on financial performance of local governments. The present research was only conducted at second level of local governments in Java in 2016—2018. The present research gives contribution to the literature of local government performance, especially from the perspectives of financial performance of second level local governments in Java Island. Research on the use of political background has rarely been conducted to assess financial performance of local governments.

ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui analisis faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap praktik perataan laba (studi empiris pada perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di BEI tahun [2012][2013][2014][2015][2016]. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di BEI tahun 2012-2016. Berdasarkan metode purposive sampling, diperoleh sampel sebanyak 55 perusahaan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan Analisis regresi logistic. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa net profit margin, debt to equity ratio, dan retur on asset secara simultan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap praktik perataan laba. Pengujian parsial menunjukkan bahwa hanya debt to equity ratio yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap praktik perataan laba. Sedangkan net profit margin dan return on asset tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap praktik perataan laba. Kata Kunci:Net Profit Margin,Debt to Equity Ratio, dan Return on Asset PENDAHULUANInformasi akuntansi yang berhubungan dengan kinerja perusahaan merupakan kebutuhan yang paling mendasar pada proses pengambilan keputusan bagi investor di pasar modal. Salah satu sumber informasi tersebut adalah laporan keuangan. Laporan keuangan yang merupakan salah satu sarana untuk menunjukkan kinerja manajemen yang diperlukan investor dalam menilai maupun memprediksi kapasitas perusahaan menghasilkan arus kas sumber daya yang ada. Walaupun semua isi dari laporan keuangan bermanfaat bagi para pemakai, namun biasanya perhatian lebih banyak ditujukan pada informasi laba. Sering kali perhatian investor yang hanya yang hanya terpusat pada laba ini membuatnya tidak memperhatikan prosedur yang digunakan untuk menghasilkan informasi laba tersebut.Laporan keuangan merupakan sarana utama untuk memperoleh informasi keuangan yang dikomunikasikan kepada pihak-pihak yang berkepentingan dalam mengambil keputusan ekonomi. Salah satu informasi yang sangat penting untuk pengambilan keputusan adalah laba. Pentingnya informasi laba disadari oleh manajemen sehingga manajemen cenderung melakukan disfunctional behavior (perilaku tidak semestinya) yang dipengaruhi oleh adanya asimetri informasi dalam konsep teori keagenan. Konflik keagenan akan muncul apabila tiaptiap pihak, baik principal maupun agent mempunyai perbedaan kepentingan dan ingin memperjuangkan kepentingan masing-masing. Oleh karena dilandasi hal tersebut, maka mendorong manajer untuk melakukan manajemen laba atau manipulasi atas laba. Salah satu bentuk manipulasi laba adalah perataan laba, para manajer memiliki dorongan yang cukup besar untuk melakukan perataan laba yaitu suatu bentuk manipulasi atas laba yang dilakukan manajer untuk mengurangi fluktuasi laba perusahaan, sehingga diharapkan kinerja perusahaan akan terlihat lebih bagus dan investor akan lebih mudah memprediksi laba masa depan. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of Leverage, managerialownership and capital intensity on tax avoidance in real estate companies listedon the Indonesia Stock Exchange for in 2017-2019. Determination of samplesusing purposive sampling method and obtaining 23 companies with certaincriteria. This research is a case study research at PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk (PT GIAA). The motivation for conducting the research was the existence of PT GIAA's fi-nancial reporting in 2018 which revealed a significant increase in profit which required PT GIAA to restate its financial statements in 2019. The analysis used was descriptive and quantitative analysis. The restatement of the financial state-ments has an impact on changes in reported earnings, namely there are losses, adjustments to accounts also cause some changes in the amounts recognized in the financial statements. On this basis, a quantitative analysis was carried out to determine the level of conservatism in the restatement of PT GIAA's financial statements. Based on accrual conservatism, the company still applies conserva-tism principles but in the restatement period of financial reporting in 2018 the level of conservatism decreased. Based on market conservatism, the market value of the company's shares is lower than its book value, this indicates that the company is aggressive in determining book value. Even the average stock return each year is negative and a sharp decline occurred during the restatement of fi-nancial statements. This indicates that market confidence decreases when the company restatement its financial statements.

This study aims to examine the effect of working capital, return on assets, and return on equity on corporate income tax. The population of this study is mining companies and the total sample was involved is thirty-six companies. The data used in the study is in the form of financial statements obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The data analysis method used in this study is the multiple regression analysis. Results of the study indicate that working capital significantly influences corporate income tax. Meanwhile, Return on Asset and Return on Equity are not significant to explain the variance of corporate income tax. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh signifikan dari Related Party Transaction -Sales, Related Party Transaction – Purchase, dan Thin Capitalization secara parsial terhadap Strategi Penghindaran Pajak pada perusahaan Manufaktur Sektor Industri Dasar dan Kimia yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) untuk periode 2016 – 2019. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian asosiatif kausal dengan jenis data menggunakan deret waktu (time series). Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Sampel berjumlah 10 perusahaan dari 75 perusahaan Manufaktur Sektor Industri Dasar dan Kimia yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) untuk periode 2016 – 2019, sehingga data penelitian yang dianalisis berjumlah 40. Data diuji dengan menggunakan IBM SPSS Statistic 25 dengan menggunakan teknik analisis regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) Related party transaction - sales tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap strategi penghindaran pajak. (2) Related party transaction – purchase berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap strategi penghindaran pajak. This study aims to determine the impact of the board size of commissioners, CEO characteristics and leverage in the potential of financial distress in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2016-2020 period. This research is done using quantitative methods. The research population of 192 companies and was taken samples by 72 companies using purposive sampling. The analysis technique used is panel data regression analysis. Based on the result of the research can be concluded that the measure of the board size of commissioners, gender CEO and leverage has a significant effect on the potential of financial distress. Whereas, CEO education does not have a significant effect on  the potential of financial distress.
