Artists spend their working time in the workplace so a design is needed to address their needs. The workplaces need to be economic, ergonomic, energyefficient, and environmentally friendly based on the current trends. This study focused on all of these aspects while choosing the subjects for conducting the experiment. A total of 10 test subjects were involved in this study. Data related to environmental conditions were analyzed by the Mann-Whitney test and those related to workloads and musculoskeletal disorders were tested by twopaired sample t test. The cardiovascular load and cardiovascular strain (CVS) data were tested by the Wilcoxon signed-rank test for a 5% significance level. The results showed that using a natural posture while working can improve health quality. Occupational health indicators, such as workloads, cardiovascular load, and CVSs, musculoskeletal disorders, visual complaints, and concentration showed an improvement characterized by decreased workloads, cardiovascular load and CVS, musculoskeletal disorders, visual complaints, and increased concentration.
Abstract. This study is a research on ergonomics field, especially for ergonomics work station. This research begins with direct observation on the work process of carving craft. In addition to the aspect of occupational health, the stages of the process are also subject matter in the effort to solve the research problem. In accordance with the master plan of research of Bali State Polytechnic, problem solving will be focused on human aspect and utilization of appropriate technology, so that will get the work process ENASEP (effective, convenient, safe, healthy, efficient and productive) Technical easy to work, economical, ergonomic, energy saving, environmentally friendly and in accordance with the trend of the era. The method to be used in this research is experimental with the same subject design. Involves 9 samples who perform activities on conditions before and after treatment. Data on environmental conditions were analyzed by Mann-Whitney test. Data on work productivity and workload were tested with two pair sample t-test at a significance level of 5%. The results showed that by utilizing ergonomic work stations, occupational health indicators such as workload showed better signs, indicated by decreased the workload. In addition to occupational health, productivity indicators also increased significantly.
This research is an observation conducted on the health aspects of the work of carving artists, especially ergo-mechanical implementation to reduce subjective complaints. Ergo-mechanical is a set of equipment to maintain working environment conditions to remain within the required limits, so that the carving artist remains in a safe and comfortable condition. This study begins with direct observation of the process of carving handicrafts in several centers of carving crafts in Badung, Tabanan and Gianyar Districts. In accordance with the Bali State Polytechnic research master plan, problem solving will focus on human aspects and the use of appropriate technology. This research method is experimental with the design of the same subject, involving 9 samples that carried out activities before and after treatment. Data on environmental conditions, fatigue and musculoskeletal complaints are processed with statistics at a significance level of 5%. The results showed that with ergo-mechanical implementation and ergonomic work stations, occupational health indicators such as musculoskeletal disorders and fatigue showed better data, characterized by decreased musculoskeletal disorders and reduced fatigue.
Kata Kunci : gerabah, alat kerja ergonomis, sakit akibat kerja, produktivitas AbstractThe business of traditional pottery, especially carat and coblong, has existed for a long time, said that since Hinduism began to be adopted by the Balinese. Carat is a ceremonial tool that has a design like a jug, only in small form, while coblong resembles a jar. In their use, both are filled with water, supplementing the fire and flowers which are usually always present at every Hindu prayer in Bali. Carat and coblong making technology is fairly traditional and has not been touched by modern technology. The manufacturing process, starting from the treatment of materials, the formation and finishing is done in a conventional way, which uses the feet and hands. The elements of skill and experience play an important role in the realization of carat and coblong pottery products. The aim of the program is to empower craftsmen by giving a touch of modern technology to work tools. The method used is socialization, provision of work tools, testing tools and data retrieval. The testing of the tool was assisted by 7 subjects who volunteered to be involved as testers. Data is taken twice, namely when the subject works using conventional work tools and when using ergonomic or modern work tools. The test results show that by using modern tools, subjects feel the reduction in pain due to work which in the long run will have implications for increasing the productive life of the craftsman and increasing productivity.
