Farmers Knowledge Level in the Use of Organic Fertilizer and Its Applicationin Rice Cultivation (Case in Subak Penarungan, Sub-District of Mengwi,Badung Regency) Public attention to the issue of agriculture and the environment in recent years haveincreased as a result of a big negative impact on the environment, compared with itspositive impact on increasing the productivity of agricultural crops. This encouragesseveral regions to hold organic farming. Organic farming is a natural farming whichin practice trying to avoid the use of chemicals and fertilizers that are poisoning theenvironment with the aim to obtain a healthy environmental condition.This studyaims to determine (1) the level of farmers' knowledge on organic fertilizer; and (3)the application of organic fertilizers by the farmers in the cultivation of lowland rice.The research was conducted at the Subak of Penarungan, Mengwi Sub-District ofBadung Regency. The choice of research location was conducted by purposivesampling. The population of the research was the active members of Subak ofPenarungan totaling of 167 people. The sample size was determined by using theformula of Slovin, so that the number of respondents was 63 people.This researchuse method analysaize descriptive qualitative. The results showed that farmers'knowledge about organic fertilizers can be categorized in the high category withachieving a score of 3.41. However, the application of organic fertilizer by thefarmers is classified in the medium category by achieving a score of 3.05. Based onthe results of this study can be suggested farmers as actors should be more activedoing weeding and want to optimize the use of organic fertilizer as recommended bythe extension. Because the use of sustainable organic fertilizer for the future will givea big influence in soil fertility, quality and not damage the environment.
The purpose of this study was to engineer a social capital-based canvas business model that is oriented towards the value of products offered to customers and devised a strategy to empower young entrepreneurs to develop their business in Manado, North Sulawesi, in 2018. ANP (analytical network process) analysis was chosen as a decision analysis tool engineer of this business system. ANP allows dependencies and feedback, both between elements in the cluster (inner dependence) and between clusters (outer dependence). Supermatrix, with all its advantages, is a fundamental tool in ANP. Based on the results of the study produced a canvas business model based on participation in social networks, oriented to the value of product creation offered to customers, and supported by the empowerment of entrepreneurial competencies for young entrepreneurs, business infrastructure development, and social innovation. Continuously, it is necessary to validate model assumptions with customers in order to represent the potential of a social-based canvas model business in North Sulawesi.
Role of Social Capital in Preserving Subak Bukti Batan Badung in GulinganVillage, Mengwi Sub-district, Badung Regency Subak Bukti Batan Badung is one of the subaks found in Bali. The area of Subak BuktiBatan Badung was previously 65,25 hectares and had undergone land conversion of7,25 hectares. Seeing the current development, it is highly likely that the existence ofSubak Bukti Batan Badung could be threatened. Thus, there is a need for the role ofsocial capital is preserving Subak Bukti Batan Badung. The data analysis method usedwas descriptivr qualitative.The results of this study showed that social capital owned bySubak Bukti Batan Badung to keep its sustainability was good which could be seen in:(1) the farmer’s belief in other farmers, the farmer’s belief in subak administrators,farmer’s belief in the government program and religious rituals, and the farmer’e beliefin the cooperatives, (2) the norms; awig-awig owned was not strong enough to suppressland conversion. Other norms were still strong and obeyed by all the subak member. (3)The social network owned could br said to be good, it could be seen from subak’srelationship with banjar/adat village, subak relationship with Public Work andAgricultural Departements.The suggestion that can be made from this research is toreinforce regulation accompanied bu sanction for related parties violating the awig-awigand awareness of subak members not to do land conversion.
The role of social capital in the Werdi Gopala Farmer Group has not been maximally carried out in developing the network of plant formalin marketing, so it needs to be studied by using trust, social network, social norm, and cooperation. The purpose was to determine the role of social capital in building a marketing network of formalin of lamtoro plant and to find out the obstacles encountered in plant formalin market. This research was conducted in the Pucaksari Village, Busungbiu Sub-District, Buleleng Regency, Bali. The findings showed that the role of social capital in establishing farmer group-based marketing network of plant formalin in the case of Werdi Gopala Farmer Group of Pucaksari Village is classified in the medium category. The role of each indicator of social capital is the role of trust classified in good category. The role of social networks is categorized very poor. The role of social norms is classified as moderate category. The role of cooperation is classified as moderate category. The main obstacle faced by the farmer group in marketing plant formalin is technical aspect which covers condition of equipment that is not productive. The second constraint is from the economic aspect which includes the lack of capital to purchase the equipment used to produce plant formalin, and the absence of plant formalin marketing from the farmer group. Suggestions that can be given is that by improving social network by coaching farmer group to use printed media and social media to market formalin plant assisted by the agricultural extension or students in their community service in Pucaksari Village, increasing cooperation with company in agriculture, adding equipments to produce formalin plant and increasing the capital by submitting a proposal to the government to get equipments or capital aids.
Aims for this research are to count the effects of farmers knowledge to farmers motivation, farmers motivation and chance for industrialist to level adoption of inovation using 2 : 1 Legowo Row planting system in Subak Penyaringan, Sub-District Mendoyo, Jembrana Regency. The research method used descriptive qualitative and quantitative method.Sample used are as many as 50 farmers member of Subak Penyaringan with purposive taken according to already know but not using 2 : 1 Legowo Row planting system. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistics (Sem PLS). The result showed that farmers knowledge influent positively and has very significant effect to farmers motivation. Farmers motivation influent positively and had very significant efffect to level adoption of inovation using 2 : 1 Legowo Row planting system. Chance of industialist influent positively and had very significant effect to level adoption of inovation using 2 : 1 Legowo Row planting system. Suggestion that the writers can give are the local goverment and its line should give cropping tools for Legowo Row planting system, frtilizer subsidy, and certified seeds evenly to all Subak in Jembrana Regency, give more technical guidance and practice field (demonstration plot) and always mentoring when planting season has begun.
