An experiment was conducted for 30 days to evaluate the performance of finisher broiler chickens fed maggot meal as a supplement in the commercial diets on their performance of finisher broiler chickens. Maggot meal was analysed to contain 40.12% CP, 10.97% CF, 6.88% EE, 15.88% ash. The four treatments used in this experiment were: (1) T0: commercial ration without maggot meal; (2) T1: commercial ration with 75% maggot meal; (3) T2: commercial ration with 50% maggot meal; and (4) T3: commercial ration added with 25% maggot meal. Statistical analyses showed that the treatments did not affect (P<0.05) feed consumption. However, they did effect (P>0.05) daily weight gain and feed efficiency of the birds. Maggot supplementation could reduce 25% commercial ration fed to broiler chickens.
The purpose of the research was to determine the Effect of purslane flour in the ration on the meat chemical composition of broiler chicken. 100-day old chicks broiler used in the experiment, and the study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and 5 replicates. The four treatments were: (1) T0: commercial ration; (2) T1: commercial ration + 2.5% purslane flour; (3) T2: commercial ration + 5% purslane flour; and (4) T3: commercial ration + 7.5% purslane flour. Parameter measured were water, protein, and fat content of broiler meat. Data obtained by cutting 60 chickens from which 15 chicken from each treatment. Statistical analysis showed that the addition of purslane flour in ration did not have significant Effect (P > 0.05) on water content, but had very significant Effect (P < 0.01) on protein and fat content of broiler chicken meat. It can be concluded that purslane flour added to basal ration up to 7.5% of broiler chickens could improve the quality of broiler’s meat.
This research was conducted to examine the effect of addition herbal in drinking water on the performance on broiler chicken. This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with for treatments, the treatment tested were: drinking water without a mixture of ingredients herbs (R0/control), herbal ingredients 5 ml/liters of drinking water (R1), herbal ingredients 10 ml/liters of drinking water (R2) and herbal ingredients 15 ml/liters of drinking water (R3). Each treatment was repeated six so that experimental unit consisted of 4 chicken so that obtained 96 broiler chicken. This research variable studied were feed consumption, drinking water consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion. The research data were analysis whit used the analysis of variance (ANOVA) method and further tested with multiple follow up test Duncan’s research result show that the administration of herbal ingredients in livestock drinking water broiler chicken had not significant effect (P>0,05) on the performance of broilers chicken. It was conclude that the used of the herbal ingredients through drinking water at a dose of 5 to 15 ml/liters has a relatively uniform effect on the performance broiler chicken Riset ini dilaksanakan untuk menelaah tentang pengaruh pemberian ramuan herbal dalam air minum terhadap performa ayam broiler. Rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) merupakan metode yang digunakan dalam riset ini serta perlakuan yang digunakan terbagi atas empat perlakuan, yaitu tiada campuran ramuan herbal dalam air minum (R0), ramuan herbal 5 ml/lt air minum (R1), ramuan herbal 10 ml/lt air minum (R2) dan ramuan herbal 15 ml/lt air minum (R3).Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak enam kali sehingga diperoleh 24 unit percobaan; setiap unit percobaan terdiri dari 4 ekor ayam sehingga diperoleh 96 ekor ayam broiler. Variabel penelitian yang diteliti adalah pakan yang dikonsumsi, konsumsi air minum, konversi pakan dan pertambahan bobot badan. Data hasil penelitian di analisis dengan menggunakan metode analisis of variance (ANOVA) dan diuji lanjut dengan uji lanjut berganda Duncan. Hasil analisis penelitian menampakkan bahwa tidak adanya pengaruh yang nyata (P>0,05) dari perlakuan pemberian ramuan herbal dalam air minum terhadap performa ayam broiler. Disimpulkan bahwa pemakaian ramuan herbal melalui air minum dengan dosis pemberian 5 sampai 15 ml/lt air minum memperlihatkan pengaruh yang relatif seragam terhadap performa ayam broiler
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efek dari penambahan jamu dan ragi pada air minum terhadap bobot dan Panjang saluran pencernaan ayam broiler. Disain penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap, terdapat empat perlakuan dan diulang lima kali. Kelompok P1: Jamu 10 ml/liter air minum, P2: Jamu 10 ml ditambah dengan ragi 1g /liter air minum, P3: Ragi 1g/liter air minum, PO: Kontrol yang diberi air biasa. Analisis data menggunakan analisis ragam dan jika hasilnya berpegaruh nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji Jarak Berganda Duncan. Penambahan jamu dan ragi kedalam air minum berefek pada ukuran limpa dan pankreas serta berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap bobot limpa dan pankreas, namun tidak berpengaruh (P>0,05) terhadap bobot dan panjang usus halus, bobot hati dan bobot akhir broiler. Penambahan jamu dan ragi kedalam air minum dapat menurunkan bobot usus halus dan memperpendek usus, meningkatkan bobot limpa dan pankreas, namun memberikan pengaruh yang sama pada bobot akhir. Penggunaan jamu sebaiknya difermentasi bersamaan dengan ragi untuk mengetahui efektifitasnya dalam saluran pencernaan.
