Two brothers with breast cancer are presented. One died 8 years after diagnosis and the other is presently living a t 1 year with metastatic disease. T h e courses of 28 other previously unreported male patients with carcinoma of the breast are reviewed, and the possibility of male breast carcinoma being metastatic disease from the prostate is discussed. Useful etiologic information might be obtained from following the offspring of male breast cancer patients to see if they are a t increased risk of developing the disease. Cancer 36:458-461, 1975. The last m a l e patient seen i n t h e d e p a r t m e n t of T h e r a p e u t i c Radiology for r o u t i n e postoperative chest wall irra-d i a t i o n had a family history which included a brother with breast cancer also treated i n this department. There a r e reports which deal with t h e familial a n d hereditary aspects of carcinoma of t h e breast, b u t these a r e all related t o female patliology.7~11 N o reported cases of carcinoma of t h e breast i n m a l e relatives were f o u n d i n o u r review of t h e literature , although there is a r e p o r t i n which one patient i n a series claimed t h a t he had a brother with breast cancer.12 T h i s was not verified, and t o our knowledge we present t h e first documented cases of p r i m a r y breast cancer i n brothers. CASE REPORTS Case No. 1 E.N. was a 52-year-old white man seen at Yale-New Haven Hospital in May, 1962 complaining of a left breast mass. Past medical history was un-remarkable.
