Objectives To obtain reliable estimates of the effects of neuraxial blockade with epidural or spinal anaesthesia on postoperative morbidity and mortality. Design Systematic review of all trials with randomisation to intraoperative neuraxial blockade or not.
Study objective-To identify and assess the contributions of major risk factors for campylobacteriosis in New Zealand. Design-Case-control study. Home interviews were conducted over nine months using a standardised questionnaire to assess recent food consumption and other exposures.
When combined with brief behavioral support, cytisine was found to be superior to nicotine-replacement therapy in helping smokers quit smoking, but it was associated with a higher frequency of self-reported adverse events. A community-based randomised trial of progressive resistance exercise is feasible. The prescribed exercises appeared to increase ejection fraction, but the effect of exercise on ulcer healing requires further investigation.
