This study aims to determine the extent to which film media and semantic mapping learning strategies can improve student English vocabulary. This study uses a qualitative approach with individual action research methods which begins with surveys, observations, interviews and tests in the class. The research was carried out on the first semester students majoring in informatics using qualitative research methods. The results of the study, obtained by the results of film media and semantic mapping strategies, had a positive and significant effect on the improvement of students' English vocabulary. The background of this research is distance learning which utilizes media in the form of android-based applications in connection with the global covid-19 pandemic experienced by various countries, one of which is Indonesia. This condition affects the movement of various sectors, including the education sector. After going through several months with this global pandemic condition, with all teaching-learning activities from various levels carried out from home, the use of appropriate methods is a very serious concern. Learning from home is one way that is expected to be able to suppress the spread of covid-19. Many distance learning media are available, so it is necessary to know the effectiveness of using these media to be used in distance learning. The method used in this research was qualitative-quantitative with a sample of 30 students chosen at random with the student record "technology literate". The data collection method was carried out through a questionnaire using electronic media and internet networks. The results of this research indicate that not all android-based applications can be used effectively in distance learning. This research is expected to provide new views and references on the effectiveness of the use of electronic media in learning, so as to increase the effectiveness of distance learning for various levels of Education. <p>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari gaya belajar terhadap penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Mardi Yuana Bogor. Hipotesis yang diuji adalah terdapat perbedaan penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris peserta didik dengan gaya belajar auditori, kinestetik dan visual. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kuantitatif untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh gaya belajar terhadap penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris peserta didik dengan dibantu SPSS 16.0. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah 64 peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Mardi Yuana Bogor. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dengan SPSS 16.0 pada taraf signifikansi ?= 0,05 diperoleh nilai sig 0,000 < 0,05 dan Fhit > Ftab atau 16,544 > 3,148. Maka Ho ditolak dan H1 diterima. Artinya terdapat pengaruh gaya belajar terhadap penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris peserta didik. <br /> <br />Kata Kunci: Gaya Belajar, Auditori, Kinestetik, Visual, Kosakata</p>
Media pembelajaran merupakan satu bagian penting dari proses belajar mengajar demi mencapai hasil belajar yang maksimal. Media pembelajaran yang bersentuhan dengan kemajuan teknologi yang sangat diminati oleh berbagai kalangan saat ini sangat mungkin menolong proses belajar sehingga memiliki hasil yang lebih baik bahkan maksimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana efektifitas penggunaan media pembelajaran facebook dalam proses belajar dikelas. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap mahasiswa Informatika dengan sampel berjumlah 60 mahasiswa pengguna aktif facebook. Hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan perhitungan SPSS 15.0 dengan data berdistribusi normal dan bersifat homogen, didapat hasil mahasiwa dengan media pembelajaran facebook memiliki nilai yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan mahasiswa yang tidak menggunakan media pembelajaran dengan facebook.
