Background: Collaboration between nurses and physicians is linked to positive outcomes for patients, especially in psychiatric units. However, effective collaboration poses challenges as work stressors. So, effective work stressors coping strategies have the highly concern from organization management as a method for maintaining high level of collaboration. Aim: This study aimed to explore the effect of working stressors coping strategies program on nurse physician collaboration. Design: Quasi experimental design was used. Setting: This study was carried out at Benha psychiatric hospital. Sample: All convenient nurses and physicians worked at in-patient care units. Tools: Two tools were used, questionnaire to assess work stressors and collaborative practice scale (CPS) questionnaire. Result: There is a negative correlation between work stressors and nurse-physician collaboration (P<0.001) with a positive effect of coping strategies program on them. Conclusion: Work stressors coping strategies are essential for promoting nurse-physician collaboration which in turn promote organizational success. Recommendation: Maximizing nurse-physician collaboration holds promise for improving quality patient care and creating satisfying work environment for nurses and physicians.
Background: Digital drug abuse has recently been approached as an urging topic endangering Middle Eastern teenager through different media channels. This approach raised a lot of discussion and speculations among health practitioners, especially toxicologists, psychiatrists and community health practitioners. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of digital drugs educational program on nursing students' knowledge and attitude at Benha University. A Quasi-experimental design was used to conduct this study, at Faculty of Nursing Benha University during the period from October 2017 to December 2017 then from March 2018 to May 2018. Subjects: A purposive sample of 313 students selected according to study formula based on the total number of students during the academic year 2017-2018. Tools: Two tools were utilized for data collection. The Tool I-A Self-administrated Questionnaire was developed. Tool II-A Likert scale to assess nursing student"s attitude regarding digital drugs. Results: There were statistically significant differences between the mean students" knowledge scores and attitude of pre-program and post-program(P<0.001). Also, a highly statistically significant positive association was found among the studied students" knowledge and attitude pre and post-program. Conclusion: The result showed the effectiveness of an educational program on improving students" knowledge and attitude regarding the digital drug. Recommendation: There was an urgent need for educational programs for all nursing undergraduate as well as teenagers to prepare them to oversee their awareness around the digital drug.
Background: Bariatric surgery has emerged as the most successful and long-lasting treatment for morbid obesity. Many women who have undergone bariatric surgery experience a distorted perception of their bodies, which can lead to severe psychological disturbances following the procedure which in turn influence negatively on marital relation and their quality of life. Aim of the study: this study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing intervention program on body image, marital satisfaction and quality of life among women post bariatric surgery. Research design: A quasi-experimental design was conducted. Setting: This study was conducted at outpatient clinic& general surgery department at University Hospital in Benha. Subject: A purposive sample of available 50 women who underwent bariatric surgery& met the determined inclusive criteria. Tools: Tool I demographic& clinical data structured interview questionnaire. Tool II: Multidimensional body self-relations questionnaire appearance scale (MBSRQ-AS). Tool III: Enrich Marital Satisfaction scale. Tool IV: Moorehead-Ardelt Quality of Life Questionnaire Results: At pre and post program implementation, there was a highly statistically significant difference in the total mean score of different domains of body image satisfaction, marital satisfaction, and quality of life among the studied women, and a highly statistically significant positive correlation between the different domains (P < 0.001). Conclusion: intervention nursing program sessions had highly statistically significant positive effect on improving body image satisfaction, marital satisfaction and quality of life among the studied obese women underwent bariatric surgery. Recommendation: Further researches should be conducted to investigate expectations from bariatric surgery& to evaluate psychological health status pre-and post-surgery to gain the potential benefits regarding body image satisfaction, marital satisfaction &quality of life and overall success.
Cyberbullying is a major concern among university students, negatively impacting their psychosocial health and academic performance. Aim of study: evaluate the effect of educational program on social media cyberbullying among nursing college students at Benha University. Design: Quasi-experimental design was used. Setting: This study was conducted at Faculty of nursing, Benha University. Subjects: This study was carried on 1029 nursing students. Instruments of data collection: there were three instruments used: Tool I: Structured Interviewing Questionnaire sheet: It was divided into two parts. Part one: Personal characteristics of studied, Part two: Social media cyberbullying related data. Tool II: Structured knowledge Questionnaire to assess cyberbullying knowledge and Tool III: Cyber-Aggression Scale (CYB-AGS) to assess cyberbullying behavior. The study results showed that after program most of studied students had satisfactory total knowledge about cyberbullying. In addition to highly statistically significant negative association between knowledge and cyberbullying behavior was found post program than preprogram. Conclusion: The educational program was very effective in promoting students' knowledge and behavior regarding cyberbullying. Recommendations: Increasing awareness about cyberbullying and importance of adopting preventive strategies to control it through health education programs to all community especially were needed.
Background: Cyber bullying is the new power equation attached to bullying issue. In the meantime, digital technology has changed the way adolescents communicate and learn. It affects their behavior and attitude. Aim of the study: Was to assess students' level of awareness about psychosocial problems associated with cyber bullying. Research design: A descriptive exploratory design was used in this study. Setting: The study was conducted in two faculties at Benha University (Nursing and Education). Subjects: A sample of 400 students, 200 from each faculty were chosen by a purposive sample. Tools: Three tools were used for data collection. Tool (1): Structured interview questionnaire was used to collect data about students and family characteristics. Tool (2): Cyber bullying questionnaire was used to assess level of awareness of students about cyber bullying. Tool (3): Psychosocial problems questionnaire was used to assess awareness of students about psychosocial problems associated with cyber bullying. Results: Majority of nursing students had unsatisfactory knowledge about cyber bullying, while more than three quarter had unsatisfactory knowledge about cyber bullying for education students. Three quarters of nursing students have severe psychological effect of cyber bullying meanwhile, less than two thirds of education students have severe psychological effect of cyber bullying. Conclusion: There was lack of awareness of students about psychosocial problems associated with cyber bullying. Recommendations: Psycho-educational training program to improve awareness of students about cyber bullying causes, effects and how to prevent should be conducted.
Background: As the efficacy of cancer treatments has improved and the life span for cancer patients has extended, interest in patients' quality of life has increased. Assessing patients' quality of life continues to gain importance as it impacts numerous facets of oncology. Aim of study: Was to assess the impact of psychological problems and spiritual wellbeing on quality of life among hospitalized cancer patients. Research design: A descriptive research design was utilized to conduct this study. Setting: This study was conducted at clinical oncology department at Nasser Institute Subjects: A convenient sample of 100 patients with cancer. Tools for data collection: Data were collected by using the following tools: I: Socio-demographic and clinical data questionnaire: to elicit data about patient characteristics and clinical data. II: Spiritual Well-being Scale (SWBS) to assess spiritual well-being. III: Simple Quality of Life Scale (FSQOLS) to assess quality of life among patients with cancer and IV: Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale designed to measure the emotional states of depression, anxiety and stress. Results: More than half of the studied sample has poor quality of life among illness, while one tenth of them have good quality of life. Revealed that less than half of the studied sample are suffering from severe depression ,more than three quarter of them have extremely sever anxiety and more than two thirds of them have moderate stress. Conclusion: There was significant positive correlation between spiritual wellbeing and quality of life and there was negative correlation between spiritual wellbeing and stress. Recommendations: Conducting psycho-educational program for improving the psychological status of cancer patients of all types. Background: Inter-parental conflict affects adolescent behavior and has severe consequences for the emotional security and academic performance of adolescents. Aim: This research paper aims to explore the relationship between emotional security and the perception of adolescents' inter-parental conflict and their academic achievement. Design:The study adopted the descriptive correlational design. Setting: Two schools for girls (El-Obour Secondary School for Girls and Asmaa Bent Abi Bakr Secondary School for Girls) are the only two governmental secondary schools in El-Obour city. Sample: A simple random sample (N=283) was taken from the above setting. Tools: Data collection depended on four tools: The first was a two-part structured interview questionnaire: Part I covered the students' socio-demographic data, whereas part II comprised the family's socio-demographic data. The second tool was the Children's Perception of Inter Parental Conflict (CPIC) Scale, the third tool was the security in the Family System Scale (SIFS), and the fourth tool was the Academic Achievement Scale. Results: Less than half of the studied students had a moderate perception of inter-parental conflict, more than one-quarter had a low level of security in family, and more than half had an unsatisfactory level of academic achievement. Conclusion: Inter-parental conflict positively correlated with psychological well-being and academic achievement among students. Recommendation: Conducting periodical workshops for school students to help express their emotions and intervention programs for students and parents to enable them to be more adaptive.
