Internet has an effect on many aspects of a person's life, including physically, psychologically, socially and mentally. Excessive internet use in adolescents and young people is associated with intrapersonal and interpersonal difficulties. Aim of the study: This study was aimed to assess problematic internet use and psychological problems among the faculty of nursing students of Benha University .Research question: 1-What is the problematic of Internet abuse among university students? 2-Is there a relationship between problematic of internet abuse and psychological problem among university students? Research Design: descriptive research design was used Setting: The study was conducted at Faculty of Nursing, Benha University. Tools of data collection: data were collected by using three tools: a socio-demographic data questionnaire, generalized problematic internet use scale and depression, anxiety and stress scale. Results, the findings demonstrated that the studied students have highly problematic internet use and there is highly relationship between problematic internet use and psychological problem among university students. Conclusion: There is a highly statically correlation between problematic internet use and psychological problems among studied students, and many financial problems may occur due to the significant amount of time spent on internet.The study recommended: Conducting an educational program to the university students to help them deal with problematic internet use. Parents should give encouragement for their adolescents to participate in other creative activities beyond computer use.
Introduction: Nurses are often on the front line positions for identifying and interviewing patients who are suicidal; therefore, nurses must be well trained in in the assessment of suicidal patients and know what to do when faced with a client who is actually suicidal. Purpose: The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of a psycho educational program about control of suicidal ideation among psychotic patients on a nursing staff's knowledge and practice. Methods: Aquatic-experimental design was utilized. Participants included a sample of 50 psychiatric nurses working at Tanta-Mental Health Hospital. Two tools were used for data collection; Nurse's knowledge about suicide Ideation questionnaire and an Observation Checklist for a Nurse's practice towards the suicidal patients. Results: Revealed that there was a statistically significant improvement between the mean score of total knowledge and the skills score before intervention, immediately after and after three month of intervention. Conclusion: There was marked increase in the overall knowledge and skills of the nurses as the result of receiving an educational program about control of Suicidal Ideation among psychotic patients on nursing staff knowledge and practice.
Background: Bariatric is a branch of medicine dealing with the causes, prevention, and treatment of obesity. It leads to massive and rapid weight loss in severely obese patients. This may result in numerous complications that affect body image satisfaction and self-esteem.Aim of the study: this study sought to evaluate the effect of a psycho-educational intervention for obese women after bariatric surgery on body image and self-esteem. Study design: A quasi-experimental design was followed. Study setting: This study was conducted in two settings namely the surgical department at University Hospital in Benha and the Gastroenterology ward in the Main University hospital in Alexandria. Subject: A convenient sample of 40 women who had bariatric surgery constituted the study subject. They were divided into two equal groups randomly; a study group that received the nursing psychological educational intervention and a control group that was exposed to routine care only. Tools of the study: Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and The Multidimensional body selfrelations questionnaire appearance scale (MBSRQ-AS) and sociodemographic and clinical characteristics sheet. Results: Study group who received psychoeducational program show higher mean in self-esteem scale than the control group with Mean ± SD (33.55±2.25 and 29.10±2.59 respectively) with highly statistical significant difference between the study and control group. Also, the Mean ± SD of different domains of body image satisfaction in study group were higher than control group with highly statistical significant differences.
Conclusion:The psychoeducational program implementation had a positive effect in selfesteem and all domains of body image satisfaction for studied subjects undergoing bariatric surgery. The study recommended that the Psychoeducational programs should be offered for obese women' undergoing bariatric surgery as a regular and integral component of health care.
