Ligands derived from quinoxaline-2,3-(1,4H)-dithione are treated with Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) chlorides to yield stable complexes. The prepared compounds are characterized by spectro-analytical techniques and magnetic susceptibility measurements, and the coordination behavior of ligands is discussed. All the complexes are octahedral and mononuclear with general formula [MLCl 2 (H 2 O)]. The electrochemical behavior of the synthesized compounds was investigated by cyclic voltammetry studies and the redox activity is explained.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
