Introduction. The use of various types of models for solving linguodidactic problems as a crucial object of analysis in linguistics and linguodidactics is considered by modern scientists from various points of view. The aim of the study is to identify and substantiate the potential of cognitive modeling in the construction of an idealized cognitive model (using the example of a prototypical scenario of risk situation) and to analyze the didactic potential of cognitive modeling in order to optimize strategies for mastering a foreign language, in particular, phraseological corpus Materials and methods. The integration of theoretical and empirical components predetermined the methodology used, including the method of continuous sampling of material (French idioms of risk) from authentic sources, the method of interpretation, the method of comparative analysis. Research results. A prototypical scenario of risk situation is proposed and formalized by means of an idealized cognitive model. Each subframe is illustrated by a cluster of relevant idioms, the list of which is open. The authors describe the idealized cognitive model of risk situation developed by them through the prism of its didactic potential. Using the example of a fragment of the corpus of French phraseology, it is shown that cognitive modeling contributes to optimization of the study of vocabulary, in particular, phraseology. The specific tasks proposed demonstrate the implementation of the constructive modeling functions of the suggested scheme with a focus on the correlation of the formal and substantive aspects of the language material. Conclusion. The novelty of the proposed approach lies in the integration of the theoretical concept – the proposed idealized cognitive model – and the practical strategy of its application in linguodidactics and, in a broader perspective, in humanitarian education in general. The open nature of the model makes it possible to use it for other fragments of the lexical fund of both French and other foreign languages.
The article discusses various approaches to the study of archetypal metaphors in political discourse. A brief review of the results obtained by linguists in this direction is given. Particular attention is paid to highlighting the main provisions of the theory of the archetypal metaphor of M. Osborne, which are accompanied by the author's comments. The results of the empirical study of the archetypal binary opposition (ABO) LIGHT/DARK, based on the material of modern American political media discourse, are presented for consideration. The mechanism of actualizing the speech-acting potential of metaphorical images within the framework of the cognitive-discursive paradigm is described. The existence of the correlation between the methods of influencing on information recipients and the cognitive characteristics of ABO LIGHT/DARK is proved. The description of four ways of influencing on public consciousness is presented: emotional, referential, appellative and mental. The characteristic to the corresponding methods of manipulative impact on the audience is given. The correlation of these methods and techniques with cognitive characteristics of archetypal concepts and their metaphorical representatives is revealed. The relevance and novelty of this approach lies in the fact that it allows not only to ascertain the presence of an acting potential of the archetypal metaphor, but also explains the cognitive mechanism that ensures its manipulative influence on the mass consciousness of the target audience made by the author of political discourse.
The article sums up the analysis of quasi-names as a result of receptive distortion in the course of auditory perception. Rolan Barthes' theory of second-order semiological system is applied to modeling cognitive procedures of sense reception and transformation. Individual concept dominating the receptor's intentional horizon at a particular point of time correlates with internal time of ego and transforms the initial sense of the message into a new meaning. Algorithm of formation and functioning of second-order semiological system is tested as an instrument of individual myth creation. Study of individual quasi-names underlies general gnoseological view of concept's myth-forming function not limited to ideological concept domain. Correlation between the signifier and the signified is investigated within the context of phenomenological identity attained through interiorization-bringing the sign in harmony with the internal time of ego.
