Grape (Vitis vinifera L.) is a delicious fruit with a rich source of different phytochemicals, antioxidants, and it has many health benefits (Yang et al., 2009). The total area under cultivation of grape vine in the world is 7.4 Mha with a production of 77.8 million tons of grapes (OIV, 2019). China, Italy, the United States, Spain, and France are the major grape-producing countries in the world. India ranks at seventh position in the world and produced 2.9 million tonnes of grapes in 2018. Grapes are either consumed for table purpose or processed into products such as wine, raisin, jam, juice, jelly, and other by-products (Venkitasamy et al., 2019). In countries like the United States, Spain, France, Australia, and Argentina, 65%-95% of total grape production is used for winemaking whereas China, India, Iran, Uzbekistan, and Egypt have more consumption of grapes as table purpose (OIV, 2019).
